August 2017, 20:30 - 21:00 Uhr<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00abDieser Film ist all jenen gewidmet, deren Leben in D\u00fcnkirchen ersch\u00fcttert wurde\u00bb.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Die Stra\u00dfe ist menschenleer. Nur ein paar Sch\u00fcsse ert\u00f6nen in der Stille des Todes. Hier und da fliegen Papierleichen umher. Ein junger englischer Soldat l\u00e4uft allein. Er erreicht den Strand, um diese Bastion der Niederlage zu verlassen: D\u00fcnkirchen. Die Deutschen haben die Alliierten als Geiseln genommen. Eingesperrt wie Ratten an der K\u00fcste, sind es 400.000 M\u00e4nner, die auf ihre Rettung warten, die \u2019auf ein Wunder warten\u00ab.<\/p>\n<p>Parallel dazu heuerten britische Sportboote an, um ihre Soldaten zu befreien; die Zerst\u00f6rer reichten nicht aus. Die beiden K\u00fcsten sind nur 40 Kilometer voneinander entfernt, doch die Bomben der Achsenm\u00e4chte erschweren die Mission erheblich. Die dritte Geschichte des Films spielt daher in der Luft. <em>D\u00fcnkirchen<\/em>. Ein tapferer Flieger der Royal Air Force, dessen Treibstoff fast aufgebraucht ist, wirbelt in einem gnadenlosen Kampf herum, um die Boote und den Strand vor dem Feind zu sch\u00fctzen.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Jeux de temps et d\u2019Histoire<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Le r\u00e9alisateur, Christopher Nolan, est connu pour aimer jouer avec le temps. Des d\u00e9calages dimensionnels d\u2019<em>Inception<\/em> aux analepses de la saga <em>The Dark Knight<\/em>, il s\u2019avance cette fois vers un \u00ab\u00a0simultan\u00e9 de dur\u00e9es diff\u00e9rentes\u00a0\u00bb. Trois temps, trois chapitres. I. <em>Le M\u00f4le<\/em>, II. <em>La Mer<\/em>, III. <em>L\u2019Air<\/em>. Chacune de ces parties rel\u00e8ve un espace de l\u2019op\u00e9ration Dynamo, qui eut pour but d\u2019\u00e9vacuer les troupes encercl\u00e9es du 26 mai au 4 juin 1940. Le spectateur suit ainsi le jeune soldat et ses compagnons, cherchant \u00e0 fuir au plus vite, pendant une semaine\u00a0; le bateau civil de Monsieur Dawson, pour un jour\u00a0; et le pilote de chasse, une heure durant. Chacun reconna\u00eet l\u2019excellence du cin\u00e9aste dans ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 r\u00e9volutionnaire du domptage des temps. Ceux-ci deviennent relatifs\u00a0; selon le rythme personnel d\u2019un aviateur \u00e0 l\u2019urgente mission, ou celui de soldats fondant doucement de d\u00e9sespoir sur le sable.<\/p>\n<p>Un autre point, en revanche, est loin de faire l\u2019unanimit\u00e9\u00a0: le focus historique. La presse fran\u00e7aise s\u2019insurge de voir son arm\u00e9e r\u00e9sistante quasiment absente du long-m\u00e9trage. <em>Les Inrocks<\/em>, notamment, revient aux sources de manuels sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s sur l\u2019op\u00e9ration Dynamo. \u00ab\u00a0Pour permettre aux troupes britanniques d\u2019embarquer, 40&#8217;000 soldats fran\u00e7ais r\u00e9sistent face \u00e0 120&#8217;000 Allemands. \u2018Ils se sont sacrifi\u00e9s\u2019, insiste Dominique Lormier, historien sp\u00e9cialiste de l\u2019\u00e9poque et auteur de\u00a0<em>La bataille de Dunkerque<\/em>\u00a0(\u00e9d. Tallandier, 2011).\u00a0\u00bb Et de s\u2019en plaindre\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Les rares \u00e9vocations du r\u00f4le de l\u2019arm\u00e9e fran\u00e7aise tiennent en deux citations. Lorsque le capitaine Winnant rapporte que \u2018l\u2019arri\u00e8re-garde tient, les Fran\u00e7ais la prot\u00e8gent\u2019 et quand le commandant Bolton, qui, tel le capitaine du Titanic refusant de quitter le navire, d\u00e9cide de rester \u00e0 Dunkerque pour \u2018aider les Fran\u00e7ais\u2019.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Du patriotisme<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>En r\u00e9ponse au ton l\u00e9gitime de cette critique, il y a le patriotisme dont le film se nourrit. Nolan ne para\u00eet pas tant ignorer les Fran\u00e7ais que raconter, pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, la mobilisation g\u00e9n\u00e9reuse et courageuse d\u2019un peuple pour les siens. Et l\u2019amour de sa terre. Le commandant Bolton, charg\u00e9 du sort de tous les 400&#8217;000 occupants patients du rivage, chante la proximit\u00e9 rendue lointaine de la patrie, avec nostalgie.<\/p>\n<p>Monsieur Dawson, lui-m\u00eame, ne cesse de rappeler \u00e0 son jeune \u00e9quipage que \u00ab\u00a0c\u2019est un devoir de sauver les n\u00f4tres.\u00a0\u00bb Un tel engouement national ne va pas sans choquer le gauchisme de <em>T\u00e9l\u00e9rama<\/em> \u2013 bien qu\u2019il reste une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence en mati\u00e8re de critique cin\u00e9matographique. \u00ab\u00a0Plus g\u00eanant : l\u2019emballement patriotique tr\u00e8s appuy\u00e9, lorsque surgit la flottille civile, valeureuse. Tout juste si, \u00e0 la fin,\u00a0l\u2019hymne britannique ne se met pas \u00e0 r\u00e9sonner. Un peu\u00a0<em>zu viel<\/em>.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<h3><strong>L\u2019angoisse des sons<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Plus artistiquement parlant, la musique tient un r\u00f4le fondamental dans le d\u00e9roulement de l\u2019intrigue. Presque constante, elle ne commet pas de prouesses quant \u00e0 sa composition. Son effet, n\u00e9anmoins, sugg\u00e8re dans la salle une inconsolable angoisse. Les violons sont pinc\u00e9s de plus en rapidement\u00a0; les contrebasses, \u00e0 l\u2019arri\u00e8re, donnent \u00e0 l\u2019air r\u00e9p\u00e9titif une r\u00e9sonnance d\u2019alarme. Le son m\u00eame d\u2019un chronom\u00e8tre de bombe s\u2019\u00e9coute, grave, dans l\u2019avion mitraillant et \u00e9vitant brusquement les balles adversaires.<\/p>\n<p>En outre, tout le bruitage du film se manifeste avec brio en marge de la musique. Suffit-il de repenser aux cris des avions d\u00e9chirant le ciel. Ou encore, de simples pas h\u00e9sitants s\u2019ajoutent au rythme anxieux des cachettes dans des petits bateaux apparemment abandonn\u00e9s, \u00e9chou\u00e9s sur la plage. Les plus bouleversants, demeurent les pleurs et souffles ultimes de militaires, forts et fragiles \u00e0 la fois. Par ailleurs, des vagissements t\u00e9moignent de la jeunesse innocente de ces derniers. Finir noy\u00e9, \u00e0 vingt ans. Ces sons restent. Le plus banal des trois, c\u2019est la collection massive de vues a\u00e9riennes. Elle offre des s\u00e9quences tout bonnement spectaculaires. Plus subtil, le lien tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9sent entre la cam\u00e9ra et le visage. A plusieurs reprises, face aux acteurs principaux, qui repr\u00e9sentent l\u2019\u00e9tat d\u2019\u00e2me de tous les autres camarades, l\u2019appareil se meut dans un axe sym\u00e9trique au personnage. Les chutes, grimaces, essoufflements et d\u00e9chirures d\u00e9sesp\u00e9r\u00e9es se pendent au regard du spectateur.<\/p>\n<p>Enfin, intervient l\u2019alternance entre l\u2019individu et la masse. De l\u2019image d\u2019un regard, appara\u00eet une vue panoramique de milliers de casques sur la plage. Cette d\u00e9marche en dit long sur la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 de cette guerre o\u00f9, malgr\u00e9 la solidarit\u00e9 patriotique prononc\u00e9e, tout un chacun cherche \u00e0 sauver sa peau. Survivre, pour soi.<\/p>\n<p>Concernant la photographie, elle s\u2019arme de deux filtres unicolores qui, en premier lieu, rendent le film agr\u00e9able \u00e0 voir par sa beaut\u00e9, m\u00eame s\u2019il \u00e9tait muet ; et qui comportent, en second lieu, une d\u00e9licate signification, s\u2019imposant aux yeux du public m\u00eame de mani\u00e8re inconsciente. Les tons bleut\u00e9s dominent, dans la mesure o\u00f9 ils confondent ciel et mer pour exposer la similarit\u00e9 du tragique qui s\u2019y vit. Aussi, par leur omnipr\u00e9sence jusqu\u2019\u00e0 quelques minutes avant la fin, ils marquent cette id\u00e9e d\u2019enfermement. La lib\u00e9ration casse le bleu pour laisser place \u00e0 un orange, accompagn\u00e9 de nuances rouge\u00e2tres, plus chaud, apais\u00e9 et sain.<\/p>\n<p><em>D\u00fcnkirchen<\/em> s\u2019appr\u00eate \u00e0 rester dans les m\u00e9moires comme une grande \u0153uvre. Certes, les r\u00e9serves exprim\u00e9es \u00e0 son \u00e9gard ont leurs fondements. De plus, les acteurs ne doivent pas esp\u00e9rer inscrire leur trace dans le cin\u00e9ma par ce film, tant leur personnalit\u00e9 est camoufl\u00e9e au profit de l\u2019ensemble.
