Chagall lebte dort viele Jahre lang, sowohl als armer Anf\u00e4nger als auch als anerkannter und bewunderter Maler. \u00dcber das Elend in seiner Wohnung in \u00abLa Ruche\u00bb, einer Bohemien-Ecke, berichtet er in Ma Vie: \u00abAtelier rempli de tableaux, de toiles qui n'\u00e9taient d'ailleurs pas des toiles, mais plut\u00f4t mes mates de tables, mes draps, mes chemises de nuit mis en pi\u00e8ces.\u00bb Und das, obwohl \u00abParis!
