Il place des \u00e9couteurs dans ses oreilles. \u00ab\u00a0Testo, testo\u00a0\u00bb, dit la voix \u00e9manant des \u00e9couteurs, en japonais. Silence et obscurit\u00e9. Le champ s\u2019ouvre sur une rue japonaise. Misako Ozaki (Ayame Misaki) d\u00e9crit en son for int\u00e9rieur les \u00e9v\u00e9nements qui s\u2019y d\u00e9roulent et les personnes la peuplant \u00e0 l\u2019instant. Un par un, tous passent sous le regard de la jeune femme. Et puis seule la voix. Dans une petite salle de bureau, nous retrouvons alors Misako et comprenons sa fr\u00e9n\u00e9sie descriptive\u00a0; elle est charg\u00e9e de cr\u00e9er le texte d\u2019audiodescription d\u2019un film.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Les juges de sa repr\u00e9sentation sont tous aveugles ou malvoyants. Dans la salle, Masaya Nakamori (Masatoshi Nagase) lui d\u00e9croche un vilain commentaire une fois l\u2019heure du d\u00e9bat commenc\u00e9. Il s\u2019agit de l\u2019homme suivi dans la salle de cin\u00e9ma \u00e0 l\u2019aurore de la projection. Bourru, distant, dur, cet ancien photographe en col\u00e8re en cache un autre, enterr\u00e9 dans l\u2019ombre par une c\u00e9cit\u00e9 croissante. Pour eux deux d\u00e9bute alors la recherche de lumi\u00e8re et de sens, de d\u00e9livrance et de paix, passant pour l\u2019un par l\u2019acceptation de sa situation et pour l\u2019autre par le d\u00e9laissement de ses peurs.<\/p>\n<p>Expos\u00e9e sur diff\u00e9rents plans \u2013 familial, professionnel et individuel \u2013, l\u2019histoire de Misako nous est livr\u00e9e en tandem de celle de Nakamori dans la plus grande simplicit\u00e9, avant de s\u2019unir en une relation entre les deux personnages. \u00ab\u00a0Calme\u00a0\u00bb : ce pourrait \u00eatre le mot d\u2019ordre de la trame. Bien que discutant de th\u00e8mes difficiles, tels que la c\u00e9cit\u00e9, l\u2019abandon, la folie, l\u2019amour et le rejet, le tissage prend forme sans brusquer.<\/p>\n<h3>Ouverture sur le Japon<\/h3>\n<p>Baign\u00e9s dans une diversit\u00e9 de paysages et de lumi\u00e8res, le spectateur plonge immanquablement dans la vie de la jeune Misako. Abandonn\u00e9e par son p\u00e8re, elle voit sa m\u00e8re sombrer dans l\u2019attente d\u2019un retour improbable. Pourtant, son \u0153il attentif capte et s\u2019\u00e9merveille de tout paysage, et son oreille int\u00e8gre chaque son comme la plus belle des m\u00e9lodies.<\/p>\n<p>Nous d\u00e9couvrons aussi \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran ce Japon r\u00eav\u00e9, mythique\u00a0; ses rues et ruelles pas si diff\u00e9rentes des n\u00f4tres, propres, baign\u00e9es d\u2019un monde press\u00e9 tout pareillement \u00e0 ici. Dans les montagnes, une nature vive et sonore, teint\u00e9e d\u2019orange ou de jaune suivant l\u2019\u00e9tat de la course du soleil, avec toujours une masse \u00e9paisse de feuillage vert.<\/p>\n<h3>L\u2019esth\u00e9tique avant tout<\/h3>\n<p>Dans cette \u0153uvre de Naomi Kawase, l\u2019image compte plus que la surprise, plus que la parole, autant que le son. A plusieurs reprises, la cam\u00e9ra tremble. Des soubresauts allant \u00e0 la rencontre d\u2019une pudeur typiquement japonaise, \u00e0 travers laquelle il reste possible de d\u00e9celer les fragilit\u00e9s des personnages.<\/p>\n<p>Par des jeux de lumi\u00e8re et des flous plus ou moins opaques, il devient possible d\u2019entrer un instant dans ce sentiment d\u2019instabilit\u00e9 et d\u2019inconnu que ressentent, peut-\u00eatre, certains malvoyants aux premiers moments. L\u2019entrem\u00ealement d\u2019images et d\u2019histoires s\u2019unit en un ensemble enchantant, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une simplicit\u00e9 offerte sans compter, touchant de v\u00e9rit\u00e9 nos regards pourtant habitu\u00e9s au grand spectacle.<\/p>\n<h3>Pas une larme vers\u00e9e<\/h3>\n<p>S\u2019il y a pourtant une chose que nous regrettons, c\u2019est de n\u2019avoir pas eu l\u2019occasion de verser une larme, ni de sentir le c\u0153ur se serrer r\u00e9ellement. La possibilit\u00e9 de laisser l\u2019\u00e9motion prendre le dessus sur le travail lumineux de l\u2019esth\u00e9tique n\u2019est pas une seule fois saisie, et m\u00eame le baiser fougueux \u00e9chang\u00e9 entre Misako et Nakamori d\u00e9livre plus d\u2019impressions artistiques que d\u2019\u00e9motions humaines.\u00a0Ou est-ce, peut-\u00eatre, l\u2019observation toute occidentale
