Internationales Filmfestival Freiburg - Loris S. Musumeci<\/i><\/p>\n

\u00ab Er h\u00e4tte noch l\u00e4nger leben k\u00f6nnen, aber er hat in vollen Z\u00fcgen gelebt.\u00bb<\/p>\n

Das Bett quietscht. Yoshiko und ihr Freund widmen sich tiefen sexuellen \u00dcbungen. Sie sind schwei\u00dfgebadet. Pl\u00f6tzlich klingelt das Telefon. Das M\u00e4dchen unterbricht, um ans Telefon zu gehen. Es ist eine traurige Nachricht. Vom Fenster aus teilt sie ihrem Vater mit, dass \u00abOpa gestorben ist\u00bb. Als sie zu ihrem Partner zur\u00fcckkehrt, erh\u00e4lt sie ein sehr wohlwollendes \u00abWillst du, dass wir aufh\u00f6ren?.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Toute la famille est mal \u00e0 l\u2019aise\u00a0; personne ne sait que dire. A l\u2019h\u00f4pital, le p\u00e8re de Yoshiko et son fr\u00e8re se disputent\u00a0: ils se renvoient manquements et irresponsabilit\u00e9s. Yoshiko, elle, retrouve pour l’occasion sa cousine avec joie, mais les deux s\u2019\u00e9changent un \u00ab\u00a0\u00e7a fait longtemps\u00a0\u00bb, tr\u00e8s r\u00e9v\u00e9lateur de l\u2019\u00e9tat de la famille. Avec la vie, le travail, les divorces et compagnie, la famille du d\u00e9funt grand-p\u00e8re Isao s\u2019est d\u00e9cid\u00e9ment effrit\u00e9e. Comme si la situation n\u2019\u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 pas assez compliqu\u00e9e, il faut d\u00e9sormais encore penser \u00e0 caser la grand-m\u00e8re, s\u00e9nile.<\/p>\n

Eine kitschig<\/em> grandiose<\/h3>\n

Contrairement aux autres longs-m\u00e9trages de la comp\u00e9tition internationale au Festival International de Films de Fribourg, Goodbye Grandpa\u00a0!<\/em> ne mise pas son succ\u00e8s sur la photographie. Hormis quelques plans dot\u00e9s d\u2019une \u00e9l\u00e9gance au service de la tragi-com\u00e9die \u2013 notamment celui o\u00f9 les deux cousines sont contre un grille en fumant \u2013, le film collectionne les sc\u00e8nes aux images d\u2019un kitschig<\/em> grandiose. Certains y retrouvent un coup de griffe japonais\u00a0; d\u2019autres, une occasion pour vomir face aux pr\u00e9s d\u2019un vert aussi surfait et num\u00e9rique que r\u00e9pugnant.<\/p>\n

En revanche, Yukihiro Morigaki touche beaucoup plus juste au niveau du sujet dans sa r\u00e9alisation. Il expose le drame des familles occidentales et citadines auxquelles appartient totalement celle de Yoshiko. Les Japonais vivent apr\u00e8s tout \u00e0 l\u2019occidentale, bien qu\u2019ils se situent \u00e0 l\u2019extr\u00eame orient du globe. En g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, les fr\u00e8res ne se parlent plus, si ce n\u2019est pour se disputer un h\u00e9ritage. Les cousins, eux, perdent toute proximit\u00e9\u00a0: les uns vivent par-ci, les autres par-l\u00e0. Par cons\u00e9quent, \u00ab\u00a0les mariages et les fun\u00e9railles sont toujours les m\u00eames r\u00e9unions de famille. \u00bb<\/p>\n

L’individu et la famille<\/h3>\n

L\u2019histoire, sans aucune pudeur, montre l\u2019individu moderne face \u00e0 ce groupe, p\u00e9nible et \u00e9touffant, qui s\u2019appelle la famille. Le fr\u00e8re de Yoshiko \u00e9tudie \u00e0 la ville\u00a0; ses v\u00eatements sont tr\u00e8s \u00e0 la mode et il a air eff\u00e9min\u00e9. Sans surprise, la famille se moque de lui. Le cousin de Yoshiko, quant \u00e0 lui, est un introverti quasi maladif. Sans surprise, la famille se moque de lui. L\u2019oncle de Yoshiko a \u00e9t\u00e9 quitt\u00e9 par sa femme parce que ce n\u2019est qu\u2019\u00ab\u00a0un pauvre ringard\u00a0\u00bb, \u00e0 en croire son propre fr\u00e8re. Sans surprise, la famille se moque de lui.<\/p>\n

Tout un chacun pourrait adh\u00e9rer au mod\u00e8le du perdant moqu\u00e9 dans la famille. Ce sont, en effet, les tares de ses membres qui sont mises en avant. Mais en m\u00eame temps, le d\u00e9fi de tous les protagonistes, \u00e0 commencer par Yoshiko, est celui de trouver \u00e9galement les qualit\u00e9s des parents, pour aimer tel fr\u00e8re, cousin, oncle ou p\u00e8re comme il est. Morigaki rend bien la qu\u00eate dans son sc\u00e9nario, qui a un effet plut\u00f4t cathartique.<\/p>\n

Le bon vieux temps<\/h3>\n

Enfin, la figure de la grand-m\u00e8re en dit long sur la consid\u00e9ration que l\u2019on a des vieux. Non seulement Goodbye Grandpa\u00a0!<\/em> d\u00e9nonce, de mani\u00e8re un peu facile tout de m\u00eame, leur d\u00e9nigrement, mais il soutient la lucidit\u00e9 dont ils font souvent preuve malgr\u00e9 la s\u00e9nilit\u00e9. Leur simple pr\u00e9sence, d\u2019ailleurs, est \u00e9rig\u00e9e en tr\u00e9sor, dans la mesure o\u00f9 elle provoque un tant soit peu de tendresse, rem\u00e9morant aux g\u00e9n\u00e9rations qui suivent le temps de l\u2019enfance. Le temps o\u00f9 famille et solidarit\u00e9 ne faisaient qu’un.<\/p>\n

Le film vaut donc la peine d\u2019\u00eatre visionn\u00e9 pour ces quelques bons points. A ajouter\u00a0: son habilet\u00e9 \u00e0 traiter de la mort dans un long-m\u00e9trage consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme une com\u00e9die \u00e0 humour noir. Pour le reste, rien d’original, rien de puissant, rien de transcendant, rien de mortel.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Notre famille est tordue, et ces fun\u00e9railles aussi. \u00bb<\/p>\n
