Wasser, das aufgrund der Farbe des Topfes schwarz erscheint. Zentrale Farbe in <em>Sweet Country<\/em>, Der Western spielt im Australien der 1920er Jahre und zeigt die rassistischen Spannungen dieser Zeit zwischen Aborigines und Wei\u00dfen. Das Vokabular ist rau: \u00abschwarzes Vieh\u00bb, \u00abdreckiger Nigger\u00bb - der Film l\u00e4sst die Bezeichnungen schnell h\u00f6ren und erinnert in einigen Aspekten an den letzten Tarantino. Schwarz ist auch die Dunkelheit eines Zimmers, in dem eine Vergewaltigung stattfindet.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Et c\u2019est l\u2019histoire d\u2019un noir en particulier qui sera celle du film : l\u2019ouvrier agricole Sam Kelly (Hamilton Morris), qui doit fuir avec sa femme apr\u00e8s avoir tu\u00e9 un blanc. Le sergent Fletcher (Bryan Brown) est parti \u00e0 sa poursuite. Ce p\u00e9riple est sublime. Il compte sur une photographie virtuose qui encha\u00eene les plans orang\u00e9s sur les grandes \u00e9tendues de l\u2019<em>outback<\/em>, l\u2019arri\u00e8re-pays gigantesque et aride, nous faisant d\u00e9couvrir \u00e9galement la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation propre aux plaines australiennes. En contraste avec cet esth\u00e9tisme, un r\u00e9alisme pur et dur, marqu\u00e9 notamment par l\u2019absence totale de musique. On suit les respirations, les doutes, la fatigue, les quelques paroles des personnages.<\/p>\n<p>Ceux-ci sont film\u00e9s de mani\u00e8re originale : le spectateur assiste par exemple \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re apparition du sergent \u00ab par dessous\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab par derri\u00e8re\u00a0\u00bb, puisque la cam\u00e9ra se situe sur le seuil d\u2019une porte et suit la sortie du personnage. M\u00eame si le\u00a0rythme de <em>Sweet Country<\/em> respecte la tradition du western classique, la temporalit\u00e9, elle, innove : les <em>R\u00fcckblenden\u00a0<\/em>und die <em>flashforwards<\/em>\u00a0sont amen\u00e9s comme des sc\u00e8nes imbriqu\u00e9es et muettes, avec en arri\u00e8re-plan les bruitages de la sc\u00e8ne au pr\u00e9sent que l\u2019on entend encore. Tout ce travail est admirable et le visage de l\u2019inconnu\u00a0Hamilton Morris, une v\u00e9ritable gueule cin\u00e9matographique, est \u00e0 elle seule une trouvaille.<\/p>\n<p>Toutefois, on reprochera au r\u00e9alisateur\u00a0Warwick Thornton d\u2019avoir mis trop de temps \u2013 une trentaine de minutes \u2013\u00a0\u00e0 faire arriver l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ment d\u00e9clencheur,\u00a0le meurtre du blanc,\u00a0qui marque le v\u00e9ritable commencement du film. De plus, une ou deux chansons <em>Country<\/em> ou quelques instrumentaux simples \u00e0 la guitare s\u00e8che n\u2019auraient pas nui \u00e0 l\u2019originalit\u00e9 de la r\u00e9alisation, bien au contraire. Enfin, le pari visuel fait par le film et dont nous avons fait la louange aurait pu compter en m\u00eame temps sur un approfondissement de la complexit\u00e9 des personnages.
