Besorgt ruft Bridgets Vater deren Bruder an, der sich ihnen daraufhin anschlie\u00dft. Ihre Mutter wird bald gefunden, aber die Entscheidung, ob sie in ein Krankenhaus kommt oder nicht, schwebt \u00fcber der Familie. Die Familie ist in der Lage, die Familie zu retten, und macht sich daran, sie zu zerrei\u00dfen. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Lire la critique-->\n\n\n\n<p>Le premier film r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par Elizabeth Chomko s&#8217;appuie l&#8217;histoire de sa propre famille: elle d\u00e9clare qu&#8217;il s&#8217;agit d&#8217;un \u00abpo\u00e8me d&#8217;amour\u00bb pour cette derni\u00e8re. Et c&#8217;est tr\u00e8s r\u00e9ussi: les personnages sont touchants et l&#8217;histoire est racont\u00e9e avec beaucoup de ma\u00eetrise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A la recherche du bonheur<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#8217;intrigue principale est construite autour de l&#8217;opposition entre Nicki, le fr\u00e8re de Bridget, et leur p\u00e8re: si le premier est convaincu que sa m\u00e8re doit \u00eatre mise dans un h\u00f4pital sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9, le second ne l&#8217;entend absolument pas de cette oreille. On se prend extr\u00eamement vite d&#8217;affection pour le vieil homme refusant d&#8217;abandonner sa femme. On ne peut que souscrire \u00e0 ses paroles lorsqu&#8217;on l&#8217;entend r\u00e9p\u00e9ter que l&#8217;amour est un engagement et on partage sa d\u00e9tresse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais d&#8217;autres enjeux font leur apparition. Le vieux patriarche semble avoir gard\u00e9 une nette tendance \u00e0 vouloir contr\u00f4ler la vie de ses enfants et \u00e0 les juger. Chacun d&#8217;eux a adopt\u00e9 une r\u00e9ponse diff\u00e9rente \u00e0 cette attitude. Ce qui cr\u00e9\u00e9 de nouveaux conflits et les pousse \u00e0 remettre en question leur fa\u00e7on de voir leur propre vie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces personnages \u00e0 la recherche du bonheur font face \u00e0 des questionnements qui nous assaillent chaque jour. Tellement touchants, car tellement banals. Aucun ne semble id\u00e9alis\u00e9: on voit qu&#8217;ils essaient tous de bien faire, mais n&#8217;y parviennent pas. Bridget, protagoniste principal, semble particuli\u00e8rement mur\u00e9e dans sa solitude. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un film tr\u00e8s fin<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Si certains sentiments sont verbalis\u00e9s lors de dialogues, d&#8217;autres sont \u00e9galement sugg\u00e9r\u00e9s par des plans plus lents ou des ellipses. Ce dernier \u00e9l\u00e9ment offre une grande finesse au film, qui \u00e9chappe au travers d&#8217;une histoire qui tra\u00eene en longueur. Le rythme s&#8217;alterne; de nombreux \u00e9v\u00e9nements surviennent, mais qui ne poussent pas le spectateur \u00e0 se sentir brusqu\u00e9. Au contraire: il semble parfois suspendu dans l&#8217;histoire, avant d&#8217;\u00eatre pris dans une nouvelle sc\u00e8ne. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La musique est douce et sobre, et le film est \u00e9galement ponctu\u00e9 par des teintes de l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9. Les membres de la famille rient \u00e0 de nombreuses reprises, montrant qu&#8217;il n&#8217;est pas indispensable de prendre tout au s\u00e9rieux. Ces sc\u00e8nes sont parmi les plus touchantes. Elles traduisent les dissensions entre les personnages puisqu&#8217;ils ne rient pas tous au m\u00eame moment, mais permettent \u00e9galement d&#8217;apporter une touche positive malgr\u00e9 la lourdeur du th\u00e8me.
