W\u00e4hrend Harvey Weinstein vor Gericht erscheint und das Amtsenthebungsverfahren gegen Donald Trump begonnen hat, <em>Skandal<\/em>, Der Film, der auf wahren Begebenheiten beruht, die 2016 in den USA Schlagzeilen machten, kommt in die Kinos. Seit einigen Jahren macht sich Hollywood h\u00e4ufig die politischen oder finanziellen Eskapaden der Gro\u00dfen dieser Welt zu eigen. Und parallel dazu f\u00e4rbt der Feminismus das aktuelle Kino immer st\u00e4rker ein. Jay Roach schl\u00e4gt hier vor, diese beiden Tendenzen zu vereinen, um die Phallokratie endlich in den Mittelpunkt eines Films zu stellen. Eine - wie ich meine - notwendige Premiere, die hoffentlich den Weg f\u00fcr weitere ebnen wird, mit gewissen Qualit\u00e4ten, aber auch mit gewissen M\u00e4ngeln. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Lire la critique-->\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"SCANDALE - Bande-annonce VOST\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Nr3_um_X-Sw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Une histoire qu\u2019il faut raconter<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On ne pr\u00e9sente plus aujourd\u2019hui le mouvement <em>#MeeToo<\/em> ni l\u2019homme \u00e0 l\u2019origine du scandale. Seulement, de ce c\u00f4t\u00e9-ci de l\u2019Atlantique, peu savent que celui dont le proc\u00e8s a d\u00e9but\u00e9 le 6 janvier dernier n\u2019est pas le premier g\u00e9ant am\u00e9ricain \u00e0 \u00eatre publiquement incrimin\u00e9 pour harc\u00e8lement sexuel. Un an avant que n\u2019\u00e9clate l\u2019affaire Weinstein, les accusations de nombreuses pr\u00e9sentatrices vedettes de la cha\u00eene d\u2019information <em>Fox News<\/em> provoquent un v\u00e9ritable toll\u00e9 aux Etats-Unis et font tomber le magnat de la presse t\u00e9l\u00e9visuelle Roger Ailes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si les noms de Kayla Pospisil et Gretchen Carlson ne vous \u00e9voquent rien \u2013 la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tant un personnage de fiction cr\u00e9\u00e9 pour les besoins du film et la seconde celle par qui l\u2019esclandre est arriv\u00e9 mais soumise depuis \u00e0 une clause de confidentialit\u00e9 \u2013 celui de Megyn Kelly peut vous \u00eatre plus familier. C\u00e9l\u00e8bre pour son franc-parler et ses prises de position controvers\u00e9es, elle a notamment fait parler d\u2019elle lors d\u2019une <em>Interview<\/em> houleuse avec Donald Trump, alors candidat \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sidence. Le lendemain, ce dernier, piqu\u00e9 \u00e0 vif par ses questions sur son sexisme, tweete \u00e9l\u00e9gamment (comme \u00e0 son habitude vous en conviendrez) que Megyn avait probablement ses r\u00e8gles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Press\u00e9e par la cha\u00eene \u00abannexe du Parti r\u00e9publicain\u00bb (comme la surnomment ironiquement les am\u00e9ricains) de faire ses excuses, cette derni\u00e8re finit par c\u00e9der avant de faire \u00e0 nouveau parler d\u2019elle dans l\u2019affaire Ailes. Adul\u00e9e et d\u00e9test\u00e9e \u00e0 la fois, consciente que l\u2019image qu\u2019elle v\u00e9hicule ne jouera pas en sa faveur dans cette histoire, c\u2019est apr\u00e8s une longue h\u00e9sitation qu\u2019elle se d\u00e9cide \u00e0 rompre le silence sur celui qui a, en partie, fait d\u2019elle une star. Et ne serait-ce que pour cette raison, je peux dire qu\u2019il \u00e9tait temps que ce film voie le jour. C\u2019est d\u2019ailleurs pour cela m\u00eame qu\u2019apr\u00e8s avoir accept\u00e9 de le produire, Charlize Theron, qui a longtemps h\u00e9sit\u00e9, se laisse finalement convaincre de jouer le r\u00f4le de Megyn Kelly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/leregardlibre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Bombshell-Special-Shot-ov-01-Margot-Robbie-Nicole-Kidman-Charlize-Theron-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30908\"\/><figcaption>De gauche \u00e0 droite, les actrices: Margot Robbie, Nicole Kidman et Charlize Theron<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Coupables ou victimes?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Parce que oui, parmi les victimes il y a celles que la vie n\u2019a pas \u00e9pargn\u00e9es, celles qui n\u2019ont jamais eu de chance et qui ont pourtant toujours tout bien fait. Mais il y a aussi celles qui ne sont pas irr\u00e9prochables et m\u00eame celles qui ont accept\u00e9. N\u2019en d\u00e9plaise \u00e0 certains. Il y a celles qui ne parlent que parce qu\u2019elles ont tout perdu et souhaitent se venger, comme Gretchen Carlson (Nicole Kidman). D\u2019autres, \u00e0 l\u2019image de Megyn Kelly, qui attendent, p\u00e8sent le pour et le contre, se m\u00e9fient des dommages collat\u00e9raux. Celles qui ont peur de perdre leur r\u00e9putation, leur statut, leur l\u00e9gitimit\u00e9 et de se voir uniquement d\u00e9finies par ces \u00e9v\u00e8nements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il y a celles qui ont peur, qui ont fini par croire que \u00e7a marche comme \u00e7a, qui ne savent pas vers qui se tourner, qui pensent que c\u2019est leur place et cachent leur mal-\u00eatre derri\u00e8re un grand sourire, des jupes de plus en plus courtes et des artifices en tout genre comme Kayla Pospisil (Margot Robbie) dont la sc\u00e8ne dans le bureau de Ailes, pourtant controvers\u00e9e, m\u2019a fait froid dans le dos par sa violence d\u2019une rare intensit\u00e9. Pas d\u2019insultes, ni m\u00eame de contact de physique cependant. La cam\u00e9ra se contente de suivre les courbes de la jeune femme \u00e0 travers le regard libidineux du PDG qui ainsi la brise, sans m\u00eame la toucher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et puis il y a encore et surtout toutes les autres, celles dont on ne parle pas, dont le portrait psychologique n\u2019est m\u00eame pas esquiss\u00e9 et qui ont eu elles aussi mille raisons de se taire ou de parler. Enfin, celles qui ont vu et ont d\u00e9tourn\u00e9 le regard, celles qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 complices, celles qui ont elles-m\u00eames accabl\u00e9 les victimes. Car dans <em>Scandale,<\/em> et c\u2019est l\u00e0 une grande r\u00e9ussite, point de manich\u00e9isme. Roger Ailes (John Lithgow) lui-m\u00eame n\u2019y est pas d\u00e9peint que comme un monstre mais comme un homme intelligent, ambitieux et m\u00eame parfois dr\u00f4le malgr\u00e9 ses terribles et inexcusables failles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/leregardlibre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Bombshell-Szenen-ov-05-Roger-John-Lithgow-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30907\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Un r\u00e9sultat brouillon<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On pourrait donc s\u2019attendre \u00e0 trouver ici un chef-d\u2019\u0153uvre mais les choix narratifs du r\u00e9alisateur laissent malheureusement \u00e0 d\u00e9sirer. Pire, ils embrouillent le spectateur et emp\u00eachent toute empathie. Le film avance en effet \u00e0 une allure folle qui laisse \u00e0 peine le temps de souffler. \u00c0 l\u2019image de Jordan Belfort dans <em>The<\/em> <em>Wolf of Wall Street<\/em>, Megyn, Kayla et Gretchen nous guident \u00e0 travers la fourmili\u00e8re que constituent les locaux de la cha\u00eene am\u00e9ricaine. S\u2019adressant quelquefois directement \u00e0 nous afin de commenter ou expliquer les faits, elles sont second\u00e9es dans leur t\u00e2che p\u00e9dagogique par des images d\u2019archives, des t\u00e9moignages, des flash infos en rafale et des commentaires textuels pr\u00e9sentant une ligne du temps ou des personnages secondaires en trop grand nombre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au final, si l\u2019on nettoie le film de tous ces \u00e9l\u00e9ments qui malheureusement brouillent la compr\u00e9hension plus qu\u2019ils ne la clarifient ainsi que de toutes les r\u00e9f\u00e9rences qui parlent s\u00fbrement au public am\u00e9ricain mais moins au reste du monde, on se retrouve avec une fresque informative qui ne fait qu\u2019illustrer l\u2019affaire au lieu de l\u2019analyser. Si Jay Roach \u00e9vite avec subtilit\u00e9 les \u00e9cueils du f\u00e9minisme en proposant des portraits tout en nuance, en voulant retranscrire (je me permets de supposer que c\u2019\u00e9tait l\u00e0 sa volont\u00e9) le caract\u00e8re anxiog\u00e8ne, turbulent et fr\u00e9n\u00e9tique du monde des m\u00e9dias, notamment lorsque ce genre de scandale \u00e9clate, il s\u2019oblige et nous oblige \u00e0 ne rester qu\u2019en surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avec un tel casting et le talent dont il fait montre dans certaines sc\u00e8nes, on pressent que <em>Skandal<\/em>, qui restera dans les annales parce qu\u2019il bouscule le patriarcat, ne marquera malheureusement pas le monde du cin\u00e9ma par ses qualit\u00e9s esth\u00e9tiques ou parce qu\u2019il m\u00e8ne \u00e0 un questionnement profond. S\u2019il permet n\u00e9anmoins d\u2019ouvrir le d\u00e9bat, esp\u00e9rons que d\u2019autres viendront et \u00e9branleront r\u00e9ellement les fondements du sexisme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Schreiben Sie
