Unter dem Deckmantel englischer Lords und in einer perfekt gef\u00fchrten Erz\u00e4hlung verb\u00fcnden sich Drogenbarone und Kleinkriminelle, verraten sich, suchen sich und finden sich oft. Ein bissiger Schreibstil, eine geniale Regie und ein effizientes Schauspiel erm\u00f6glichen Guy Ritchie nach einigen Entt\u00e4uschungen ein bemerkenswertes Comeback. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Lire la critique-->\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"THE GENTLEMEN - Bande-annonce VF\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Njbc1FezskU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Une mise en abyme astucieuse<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour nous pr\u00e9senter cette intrigue \u2013 dont je vous fais ici l\u2019\u00e9conomie, le sc\u00e9nario n\u2019\u00e9tant somme toute pas le plus original de l\u2019histoire du cin\u00e9ma \u2013 Guy Ritchie fait, comme d\u2019ordinaire, appel \u00e0 un narrateur. Fletcher, journaliste v\u00e9reux et fantasque incarn\u00e9 par un Hugh Grant comme on aimerait le voir plus souvent, fait \u00e0 Ray (Charlie Hunnam) une proposition que ce dernier devrait difficilement \u00eatre en mesure de refuser. Pour le convaincre, il prend en charge le r\u00e9cit, se glissant lui-m\u00eame dans la peau du r\u00e9alisateur et cr\u00e9e ainsi sous nos yeux le film que nous sommes en train de voir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En chef d\u2019orchestre d\u00e9jant\u00e9 et \u00e9loquent, il commence par mettre le spectateur en condition de tournage et va m\u00eame jusqu\u2019\u00e0 donner la r\u00e9plique et faire doubler l\u2019une des sc\u00e8nes de son sc\u00e9nario \u00e0 son interlocuteur. Son point de vue omniscient, le rend capable de nous balader d\u2019une sc\u00e8ne \u00e0 l\u2019autre et de jouir du plaisir d\u2019inventer, modifier et corriger \u00e0 sa guise, au fil de la conversation et de ses int\u00e9r\u00eats, les \u00e9v\u00e9nements qu\u2019il raconte. Et le grain de sable qui peut \u2013 et le fait d\u2019ailleurs \u2013 \u00e0 tout moment enrayer la m\u00e9canique et faire basculer nos dandys dans des situations rocambolesques, n\u2019est jamais bien loin. Car c\u2019est aussi \u00e7a, la force <em>The Gentleman<\/em>: son humour. Parfois lourdaud, toujours incisif, il cr\u00e9e un d\u00e9calage savamment dos\u00e9, tirant parfois vers l\u2019absurde, faisant rimer violence avec \u00e9l\u00e9gance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un brin caricaturaux et souvent excessifs, ces malfrats dont la verve et l\u2019allure sont tellement irr\u00e9prochables qu\u2019ils frisent le ridicule lorsqu\u2019ils perdent la face, finissent par nous attendrir \u00e0 coup de <em>Punchlines<\/em> et de fables habilement cont\u00e9es.\u00a0On en oublierait presque qu\u2019ils font tous partie des m\u00e9chants et que, bien que sympathiques, ils sont loin d\u2019\u00eatre irr\u00e9prochables. Tel est le cas du coach, brillamment interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 par Colin Farrell, dont la droiture et les valeurs sont toutes relatives, ou m\u00eame de l\u2019impeccable Ray, masquant sous son flegme un nombre incalculable de TOC et une agressivit\u00e9 latente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vous l\u2019aurez compris, le film est bien \u00e9crit, bien r\u00e9alis\u00e9, bien jou\u00e9; les images sont belles, la bande son entra\u00eenante, les personnages attachants. Certains le qualifient de \u00abr\u00e9chauff\u00e9\u00bb en le comparant \u00e0 <em>Snatch<\/em> oder <em>Arnaques, crimes et botanique<\/em>, desquels il se rapproche effectivement, mais
