Die \u00d6ffentlichkeit erinnerte sich an die Misshandlungen, die George Lucas seitdem seiner Erfindung zugef\u00fcgt hatte (vor allem die verschiedenen Nachbesserungen an der urspr\u00fcnglichen Trilogie, den Ewoks und Jar Jar Binks), und begr\u00fc\u00dfte den Deal nat\u00fcrlich als Versprechen auf einen besseren Tag. Im Jahr 2015 wurde Episode VII Das Erwachen der Macht recht positiv aufgenommen, Episode VIII Die letzten Jedi wurde von den Kritikern gelobt und von einem Gro\u00dfteil des Publikums gehasst, und Episode IX Skywalkers Aufstieg, die diesen Winter in die Kinos kam, brachte die Qualit\u00e4t des Abschlusses auf einen Nenner - und zwar auf einen sehr niedrigen.
