Lily Collins spielt darin eine 20-j\u00e4hrige Frau, die gegen die Krankheit k\u00e4mpft. Sie war selbst von dieser Krankheit betroffen, ebenso wie die Regisseurin des Films. Wenn ich die Zusammenfassung lese, erscheint mir das Projekt ergreifend. Das Ergebnis wird jedoch erst in den letzten zwanzig Minuten vollst\u00e4ndig sein.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Lire la critique-->\n\n\n\n<p>Le drame s\u2019ouvre sur des images tr\u00e8s d\u00e9rangeantes de deux silhouettes ultra-maigres et le r\u00e9cit d\u2019une anorexique sous-entendant que la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 en est la responsable. Les premi\u00e8res minutes sont plut\u00f4t r\u00e9ussies. Elles montrent le personnage principal, Ellen, dans un \u00e9tat de d\u00e9sillusion total, mais elles gardent un c\u00f4t\u00e9 amusant. La jeune femme changera de nom durant son traitement, mani\u00e8re de montrer que son anorexie est le r\u00e9sultat d\u2019un pass\u00e9 avec duquel elle doit se couper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"TO THE BONE Bande Annonce VF (NETFLIX \/\/ 2017)\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qSCVAjsCssE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Une histoire familiale<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ellen encha\u00eene les traitements pour soigner son anorexie. Sa famille n\u2019en peut plus. Ou plut\u00f4t ses familles, puisqu\u2019elle tente d\u2019\u00e9voluer au sein de deux clans recompos\u00e9s. D\u2019un c\u00f4t\u00e9, sa m\u00e8re, d\u00e9pressive, qui a repris un ranch et essaie de s\u2019en sortir \u00e0 l\u2019aide de th\u00e9rapies alternatives, dans lesquelles baigne sa conjointe. De l\u2019autre, sa demi-s\u0153ur affectueuse, mais fatigu\u00e9e de ses innombrables rechutes. Et sa belle-m\u00e8re, qui prend beaucoup de place et est tr\u00e8s \u2013 trop \u2013 investie dans sa gu\u00e9rison. En compensation certainement du p\u00e8re d\u2019Ellen, compl\u00e8tement absent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vous l\u2019aurez compris, la famille tient une grande place dans le film. Car les causes de l\u2019anorexie constituent l\u2019un des th\u00e8mes principaux. On ne cherche pas \u00e0 bl\u00e2mer la soci\u00e9t\u00e9, ni m\u00eame une personne en particulier: celles-ci sont vues comme un faisceau d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments qui alt\u00e8rent la sant\u00e9 mentale et conduisent vers le tourbillon de l\u2019autodestruction. J\u2019ai appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 que les personnages, \u00e0 l\u2019exception du p\u00e8re, ne soient pas pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s comme bons ou mauvais, mais simplement comme des \u00eatres humains. Qui font de leur mieux malgr\u00e9 leur naturel profond\u00e9ment \u00e9go\u00efste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au bout du chemin, Ellen semble m\u00eame \u00eatre la protagoniste la moins centr\u00e9e sur elle-m\u00eame. Elle tente r\u00e9ellement de combattre ses d\u00e9mons int\u00e9rieurs. Cette id\u00e9e montre bien qu\u2019il s\u2019agit d\u2019une maladie et non pas d\u2019une simple volont\u00e9 de ne pas se nourrir. Il s\u2019agit l\u00e0 certainement du message du film, qui a malgr\u00e9 tout \u00e9t\u00e9 un peu \u00abglamouris\u00e9\u00bb comme l\u2019ont remarqu\u00e9 de nombreux critiques. Sur ce point, cette d\u00e9marche m\u2019a paru fond\u00e9e: si l\u2019on veut faire passer une id\u00e9e, pourquoi vouloir \u00e0 tout prix l\u2019\u00e9dulcorer?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Par contre, l\u2019ajout d\u2019une \u00e9ni\u00e8me histoire d\u2019amour m\u2019a sembl\u00e9 nettement plus dispensable. Elle \u00e9tait tellement pr\u00e9visible qu\u2019elle en est presque devenue aga\u00e7ante \u2013 tout comme le personnage Luke, que je n\u2019ai pas trouv\u00e9 convaincant. Cette romance avait certainement une autre fonction que celle d\u2019accrocher l\u2019attention du jeune public: donner \u00e0 Ellen de l\u2019espoir. Apr\u00e8s l\u2019\u00e9chec d\u2019une \u00e9ni\u00e8me th\u00e9rapie, Ellen se rend chez sa m\u00e8re pour tenter de chercher du soutien. Qu\u2019elle trouve \u00e9tonnamment en partie, ce qui m\u2019a conduite \u00e0 r\u00e9viser mon jugement sur la psychologie des personnages que je trouvais b\u00e2cl\u00e9e. S\u2019ensuit une sc\u00e8ne tr\u00e8s perturbante, mais extr\u00eamement \u00e9mouvante, puis une magnifique explosion de couleurs sous la forme d\u2019un r\u00eave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subsiste donc pour moi une impression en demi-teinte \u00e0 la fin de ce visionnage. La photographie et le sc\u00e9nario manquent de profondeur sur les deux tiers du film: certains plans sont agr\u00e9ables \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153il, sans \u00eatre incroyables, sans avoir une r\u00e9elle fonction dans l\u2019histoire, et les personnages sont assez d\u00e9cousus. Mais les vingt derni\u00e8res minutes se r\u00e9v\u00e8lent nettement plus fines et apportent un nouvel \u00e9clairage \u00e0 l\u2019histoire d\u2019Ellen. Peut-\u00eatre faut-il finalement juger ce film pour ce qu\u2019il est: une \u0153uvre sur une th\u00e9matique int\u00e9ressante dont on ne parle pas assez, ex\u00e9cut\u00e9e par de bons acteurs, mais probablement pas \u00e0 la hauteur de mes attentes \u2013 ni peut-\u00eatre des v\u00f4tres.
