Januar 2009 in New York mit einer in der gesamten Geschichte der Luftfahrt beispiellosen Situation konfrontiert war: Ein Vogelschlag hatte kurz nach dem Start zum Ausfall beider Triebwerke des Flugzeugs gef\u00fchrt. Sullenberger entschied sich, geleitet von Instinkt und Erfahrung, f\u00fcr eine Notwasserung auf dem Hudson River. Eine waghalsige Entscheidung, die gegen alle Vorschriften verstie\u00df. Alle Passagiere \u00fcberlebten.<\/p>\n<p>Schon dieses Ereignis allein h\u00e4tte Clint Eastwood zu dem Meisterwerk inspirieren k\u00f6nnen, das derzeit in den Kinos l\u00e4uft. Doch es sind die Folgen des 15. Januar 2009, die am interessantesten sind und im Mittelpunkt der Handlung von <em>Sully<\/em> : W\u00e4hrend sowohl die Presse als auch die \u00d6ffentlichkeit die Heldentat von Kapit\u00e4n Sullenberger von Anfang an lobten, ist der Nationale Rat f\u00fcr Verkehrssicherheit der Ansicht, dass der Pilot eine weniger gef\u00e4hrliche Option als die Notwasserung auf dem Fluss h\u00e4tte w\u00e4hlen k\u00f6nnen, und leitet eine Untersuchung ein.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Diese forschende Haltung der Justiz- und Staatsbeh\u00f6rden gegen\u00fcber dem Helden bildet den Kern der Handlung des biografischen Dramas, mit dem wir es hier zu tun haben.\u00a0Ein Drama, das auf mehreren Gegens\u00e4tzen aufbaut: dem Gegensatz zwischen dem Status als Retter und dem als Verbrecher, der Komplementarit\u00e4t von Pilot und Copilot \u2013 gro\u00dfartig verk\u00f6rpert von Tom Hanks und Aaron Eckhart \u2013 aber auch das Hin und Her der Sequenzen, die uns von der Geschichte, die sich nach dem schicksalhaften Tag abspielt, zur schrittweisen Rekonstruktion des US-Airways-Flugs 1549 f\u00fchren. Mit dieser filmischen Entscheidung bietet uns Clint Eastwood, der mehr denn je als Dramatiker auftritt, eine hervorragende Inszenierung.<\/p>\n<p>Auch wenn der Film etwas schwer in Gang kommt, versteht er es, demjenigen, der sie erkennen will, seine Kraft zu zeigen, ohne dabei in die Falle des amerikanischen Films mit all seinen Klischees zu tappen (eine Falle, in die Eastwood h\u00e4tte tappen k\u00f6nnen \u2013 man denke nur an\u2019<em>American Sniper<\/em>). Es kommt ganz auf das richtige Ma\u00df, auf Finesse und Andeutung an. Und daraus entstehen Emotionen. \u00abHier spricht der Kommandant. Machen Sie sich auf den Aufprall gefasst.\u00bb Dieser Satz und die Angst, die daraufhin im Flugzeug aufkommt, gehen einem wirklich unter die Haut.<\/p>\n<p>Das Talent des Kommandanten, sein Flugzeug zu steuern und Leben zu retten, l\u00e4sst sich letztlich auch auf Clint Eastwood \u00fcbertragen, der seinerseits seinen Film inszeniert. Obwohl er auf der Leinwand nicht zu sehen ist, ist der achtzigj\u00e4hrige Filmemacher in dem Spielfilm unendlich pr\u00e4sent. Kein Wunder, dass der Film ein Erfolg ist, wenn man bedenkt, dass er von einem Einzelnen handelt, der sich dem Staat widersetzt, von einem Helden, der sich der Elite entgegenstellt, und von Fachwissen, das sich \u00fcber Gesetze hinwegsetzt.\u00a0Im Gegensatz zu dem, was die meisten Kritiker behaupten, steht Clint Eastwoods Filmkunst vollkommen im Einklang mit seinem politischen Credo:
