Die Verse, die im \u00e4olischen Dialekt von Lesbos verfasst wurden und uns in Textform vorliegen, sind metrisch in sogenannte sapphische Strophen gegliedert. Ihr Thema weist sie zweifelsfrei auf Sappho zur\u00fcck.
