Il est l\u00e0. Le 25<sup>.<\/sup> opus de la saga James Bond et celui qui dit au revoir \u00e0 son interpr\u00e8te, devenu historique, Daniel Craig. On y retrouve donc le Spectre, les Aston Martin, l\u2019humour \u00abso british\u00bb et les courses-poursuites l\u00e9gendaires de plus de 50 ans. Or, le studio MGM, r\u00e9cemment rachet\u00e9 par Amazon, a voulu r\u00e9inventer le personnage et l\u2019identit\u00e9 visuelle de cet univers. Un seul mot d\u2019ordre: le XIX<sup>.<\/sup> si\u00e8cle. Parmi ces changements, relevons d\u2019abord celui-ci: jamais nous n\u2019avons autant plong\u00e9 dans les \u00e9motions et la vie personnelle de James Bond, qui se r\u00e9v\u00e8le \u00eatre \u00e9perdument amoureux d\u2019une seule femme et p\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019autre grande actualisation, c\u2019est la venue d\u2019une colorim\u00e9trie et d\u2019un graphisme contemporains. Et ce d\u00e8s le g\u00e9n\u00e9rique. Celui-ci rend d\u2019abord hommage au tout premier g\u00e9n\u00e9rique de <em>James Bond contre Dr. No<\/em>, avec de gros points de couleurs anim\u00e9s, tr\u00e8s ann\u00e9es 60. Mais il d\u00e9voile ensuite et surtout deux couleurs qui vont r\u00e9apparaitre sporadiquement durant tout le film: le rouge et le bleu. Des ambiances \u00e9talonn\u00e9es jusqu\u2019aux v\u00eatements des membres du MI6 sur certaines sc\u00e8nes, en passant par les fioles de l\u2019arme fatale H\u00e9racl\u00e8s. Il vaut la peine de se demander \u00e0 quoi rime ce choix et sa symbolique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Le commander Bond<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Si James Bond est plus connu pour son matricule d\u2019agent secret, historiquement, il fut un ancien commander, engag\u00e9 dans la Royal Naval Reserve, durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Impossible donc de ne pas voir dans le bleu et le rouge un clin d\u2019\u0153il \u00e9vident aux couleurs de la Royal Navy, ainsi que, par extension, \u00e0 celles du drapeau britannique <em>Union Jack<\/em>. Et si on pouvait croire \u00e0 un simple clin d\u2019\u0153il hommage au pass\u00e9 de l\u2019espion, il n\u2019en est rien. En effet, d\u00e8s le d\u00e9but, James Bond \u00abretrait\u00e9\u00bb se pr\u00e9sente en tant que commander Bond, travaillant pour la CIA. Et c\u2019est un d\u00e9tail important: l\u2019homme endosse non seulement un autre costume, mais aussi d\u2019autres habitudes, comme consommer du whiskey et non une \u00abVodka Martini au shaker et pas \u00e0 la cuill\u00e8re\u00bb. Cela fait plusieurs opus que le whiskey Macallan est pr\u00e9sent, mais il l\u2019est souvent lorsque Bond est hors mission ou \u00aben retraite\u00bb. Trop humain, trop monogame, trop responsable, trop peu charmeur, dragueur, joueur\u2026 Mais o\u00f9 est donc pass\u00e9 l\u2019agent 007 de Ian Flemming? On est touch\u00e9 par le personnage et son histoire, mais \u00e7a n\u2019a rien \u00e0 faire dans un opus de James Bond. Etre contemporain, oui, car \u00e7a fait partie de l\u2019histoire de James Bond, surtout dans la probl\u00e9matique. Mais vouloir \u00eatre <em>zu<\/em> contemporain, non. On soup\u00e7onne un certain d\u00e9sir de plaire \u00e0 un large public. M\u00eame \u00e0 ses d\u00e9traqueurs. Ce qui est pire encore, car James Bond, c\u2019est un mythe qui bouscule la morale et qui donc fait d\u00e9bat. C\u2019est une fiction. Et les fictions, rappelons-le, ont leur r\u00e9alit\u00e9 embarquant un imaginaire et un parti pris.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sang chaud, sang-froid<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>La symbolique du rouge et du bleu ne s\u2019arr\u00eate pas l\u00e0. Nous soup\u00e7onnons un lien avec les couleurs qui symbolisent le sang dans tous les manuels d\u2019anatomie. Ainsi, la m\u00e9taphore serait tout trouv\u00e9e: le rouge pour le sang chaud et l\u2019amour, et le bleu pour le sang-froid et le flegme. L\u00e0 encore, cette nuance nous pr\u00e9sente la double-personnalit\u00e9 de James Bond dans cet opus. Pour un agent double, c\u2019est plut\u00f4t \u00e9vident, pourrions-nous dire avec une tentative d\u2019humour \u00abso british\u00bb. Voyons pourquoi ce n\u2019est pas forc\u00e9ment un bon choix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le sang-froid de Bond est plus que pr\u00e9sent lors des nombreux combats dans l\u2019opus, ce qui n\u2019est pas pour nous d\u00e9plaire. On aime le charme de ces courses-poursuites \u00e0 n\u2019en plus finir, les combats au corps \u00e0 corps plus p\u00e9rilleux les uns que les autres. Et si ces derniers sont de plus en plus hollywoodiens, on arrive \u00e0 l\u2019accepter, car quelques codes demeurent. La pudeur de la violence, rappelant l\u2019interdiction de montrer une goutte de sang dans les premiers opus de Bond, mais aussi l\u2019invraisemblance de la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 toujours s\u2019en sortir et l\u2019humour bondesque aux punchlines pre-mortem diss\u00e9min\u00e9 ici et l\u00e0: on aime et on en redemande.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Le sang-chaud est, lui, plus probl\u00e9matique. Car il renvoie \u00e0 l\u2019amour, au c\u00f4t\u00e9 \u00abhumain\u00bb, \u00e0 la morale. Et, tragiquement, \u00e0 la nouvelle facette de James Bond: l\u2019homme aimant, sensible, raisonnable. D\u2019ailleurs, d\u00e8s les premi\u00e8res minutes, le sc\u00e9nariste nous propose une sc\u00e8ne de Madeleine Swann (L\u00e9a Seydoux) et James Bond dans une belle Aston Martin, amoureux sur une route au soleil couchant, et o\u00f9 James Bond refuse m\u00eame d\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer, car pourquoi se presser\u2026 Mais oui, pourquoi aurait-il fallu se presser quand le film dure presque trois heures et qu\u2019une sc\u00e8ne kitsch en moins n\u2019aurait rien chang\u00e9 du tout \u00e0 la qualit\u00e9 du film? R\u00e9ponse: pour \u00e9viter plusieurs r\u00e9actions de rires de spectateurs dans la salle. Et lorsque l\u2019histoire \u00e9loigne Swann de 007 et que d\u00e9barque une James Bond girl, Paloma (l\u2019excellente Ana de Armas), aux codes mythiques, mais bien plus puissante, on est satisfaits. Le meilleur moment du film. Trop court. Trop vite oubli\u00e9, noy\u00e9 dans l\u2019am\u00e9ricanisation et l\u2019humanisation du reste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La r\u00e9v\u00e9rence de Craig, celle de Bond aussi&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On ressort tout de m\u00eame \u00e9mus, \u00e9blouis, mais terriblement d\u00e9\u00e7us. D\u00e9\u00e7us et tristes. Tristes de voir filer ce qui fait James Bond avec l\u2019acteur Daniel Craig. Tristes de constater que beaucoup plus de qualit\u00e9 aurait pu \u00eatre r\u00e9unie pour un 25<sup>.<\/sup> opus marquant. Entre autres d\u00e9ceptions s\u2019ajoutant \u00e0 la m\u00e9diocrit\u00e9 du sc\u00e9nario, l\u2019actrice L\u00e9a Seydoux, qui n\u2019am\u00e8ne pas ici son meilleur jeu, la mort trop simpliste de Blofeld (Christoph Waltz) et le personnage de Safin (Rami Malek) faiblement exploit\u00e9. Tout cela cependant rattrap\u00e9 par l\u2019excellence de la photographie qui ne nous d\u00e9\u00e7oit \u00e0 nouveau pas. Et petite joie th\u00e9matique, la r\u00e9f\u00e9rence au dieu H\u00e9racl\u00e8s et \u00e0 sa mort.
