Siegerin des <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.festival-cannes.com\/fr\/festival\/palmares\/competition-1\">Preis der Jury<\/a><\/em>, Der Film, eines der am meisten erwarteten Ereignisse des Filmfestivals von Cannes, kam am Mittwoch endlich in die Schweizer Kinos.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Lire la critique (en libre acc\u00e8s)-->\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abRien n\u2019est plus complexe que la simplicit\u00e9\u00bb. Quel adage pourrait mieux qualifier le cin\u00e9ma d\u2019Apichatpong Weerasethakul? Au seuil de son univers, le spectateur troque la compr\u00e9hension, la r\u00e9flexion et le jugement pour la contemplation, le ressenti et la m\u00e9ditation. A cet \u00e9gard, ses films s\u2019inscrivent en quelque sorte dans un choix radical de cin\u00e9ma. Les critiques sont explicites: on aime ou on abhorre, ce qui implique un rejet absolu ou un engouement sans limite. Ces \u0153uvres mobilisent la sensorialit\u00e9 totale du spectateur, d\u00e9fiant le non-initi\u00e9 qui risquerait de manquer la br\u00e8che ouverte sur le monde r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 par ce cin\u00e9ma.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Weerasethakul assume un r\u00f4le de passeur. Il invite le surnaturel au sein du naturel dans un m\u00eame espace. Ces films deviennent les lieux d\u2019h\u00e9bergement o\u00f9 cohabitent humains, esprits, fant\u00f4mes, soit des forces vitales non perceptibles dans le monde vivant. On se rappelle, dans <em>Oncle Boonmee, celui qui se souvient de ses vies ant\u00e9rieures<\/em> (2010), des fant\u00f4mes qui s\u2019invitent au repas nocturne. Citons <em>Tropical Malady<\/em> (2004) qui, par une s\u00e9rie de m\u00e9tamorphoses, brouille au fur et \u00e0 mesure la s\u00e9paration entre la jungle, le tigre et le shaman jusqu\u2019\u00e0 fusion enti\u00e8re de ces trois entit\u00e9s. Il cr\u00e9e un espace horizontal o\u00f9 tous les degr\u00e9s de conscience s\u2019imbriquent en m\u00eame temps. Fantasmagorie et r\u00e9alit\u00e9 ne forment plus qu\u2019un.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"entre-deterritorialisation-et-connexion\"><strong>Entre d\u00e9territorialisation et connexion&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Memoria<\/em> s\u2019inscrit dans la lign\u00e9e de Weerasethakul. Nous suivons Jessica Holland (l\u2019\u00e9nigmatique Tilda Swinton) et saisissons \u00e0 la vol\u00e9e quelques informations sur elle. De passage en Colombie pour rendre visite \u00e0 sa s\u0153ur malade, elle semble \u00eatre veuve et cultivatrice d\u2019orchid\u00e9es. Mais c\u2019est un son qui la caract\u00e9rise! Nous entendons avec Jessica une d\u00e9tonation myst\u00e9rieuse r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9e sporadiquement durant tout le film. L\u2019intrigue n\u2019est pas narrative, mais sonore, sensorielle. D\u2019o\u00f9 vient ce Son? Une r\u00e9ponse cherch\u00e9e \u00e0 travers un voyage mystique, de Bogot\u00e1 \u00e0 Medell\u00edn pour s\u2019achever dans la jungle colombienne. Sa route croise celle d\u2019Hern\u00e1n (Juan Pablo Urrego), ing\u00e9nieur du son, d\u2019une arch\u00e9ologue (Jeanne Balibar), et celle d\u2019un myst\u00e9rieux shaman lui aussi appel\u00e9 Hern\u00e1n (Elkin D\u00edaz).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>D\u00e9nu\u00e9 de mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9 narrative, <em>Memoria <\/em>inscrit sa tangibilit\u00e9 dans le registre universel. Jessica, au fil de ses recherches, se voit confront\u00e9e \u00e0 sa propre m\u00e9moire, \u00e0 la m\u00e9moire de l\u2019ing\u00e9nieur du son, \u00e0 celle du pass\u00e9 violent de la Colombie, mais surtout \u00e0 la m\u00e9moire de l\u2019univers. Une d\u00e9tonation proche de celle d\u2019une bombe se fait entendre alors qu\u2019un plan large capture une rue bond\u00e9e de Bogot\u00e1. Pensons \u00e0 son avant-dernier long-m\u00e9trage, <em>Cemetery of Splendour<\/em> (2015), o\u00f9 les soldats sont endormis \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pital. Du fait de la prise de pouvoir de la junte militaire tha\u00eflandaise en 2014, Weerasethakul a d\u00e9cid\u00e9, pour la premi\u00e8re fois, de poser ses cam\u00e9ras \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger. Sans \u00eatre une rupture radicale, ce nouveau contexte offre l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 \u00e0 son cin\u00e9ma de se r\u00e9actualiser, gr\u00e2ce \u00e9galement \u00e0 des choix d\u2019acteurs professionnels cette fois-ci. Quel meilleur choix que Tilda Swinton pouvait-il faire pour incarner le r\u00f4le de Jessica, \u00e9quilibre parfait entre l\u2019insaisissable et le tangible?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>La Colombie et la Tha\u00eflande se situent certes sur des continents diff\u00e9rents, mais disposent d\u2019un espace o\u00f9 l\u2019universel peut se jouer. Jungles colombienne ou tha\u00eflandaise, les deux permettent l\u2019ouverture \u00e0 une exp\u00e9rience mystique. M\u00eame si Jessica est a priori une touriste de passage, elle est toujours reli\u00e9e \u00e0 son environnement. Film\u00e9s seulement en longs plans larges, l\u2019individu et la nature sont constamment mis en relation. Weerasethakul retranscrit sa propre exp\u00e9rience d\u2019\u00e9tranger. Il filme en dehors de sa terre natale avec une certaine vision du d\u00e9racinement. Mais il retranscrit l\u2019universalit\u00e9 du chemin mystique dans un espace hors du temps et de la g\u00e9ographie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"antenne-sur-un-autre-monde\"><strong>Antenne sur un autre monde<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Du monde ou des mondes? Le bruit r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9 appartient \u00e0 un univers int\u00e9rieur. Jessica tente de d\u00e9crire le son avec l\u2019aide du jeune Hern\u00e1n, l\u2019ing\u00e9nieur du son. Comment d\u00e9crire ce son? \u00abM\u00e9tallique\u00bb, \u00absourd\u00bb, r\u00e9pond-elle dans cette sc\u00e8ne magnifique o\u00f9 se joue la question \u00e0 laquelle tous les artistes se sont confront\u00e9s: comment transposer le monde int\u00e9rieur \u00e0 travers l\u2019art? \u00abRien n\u2019est plus complexe que la simplicit\u00e9\u00bb d\u00e9bute cet article. La simplicit\u00e9 lui est transmise par Hern\u00e1n le shaman reclus au fond de la jungle. Dans notre monde contemporain centr\u00e9 autour de l\u2019intellect, oui, c\u2019est un film qui interroge.
