On nous promet un roman, mais tout para\u00eet si burlesque qu\u2019on s\u2019imagine tout. Avec <em>Comme Carthage<\/em>, Jean-Yves Dubath nous donne rendez-vous \u00e0 Paris, dans un appartement transform\u00e9 en bo\u00eete de Pandore des corps sculpturaux. Un aller simple pour un d\u00e9vergondage \u00e9rig\u00e9 en syst\u00e8me bien rod\u00e9.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Lire la recension (en libre acc\u00e8s)-->\n\n\n\n<p>Dans ce roman, on cherche, on nage ou plut\u00f4t on essaie de surnager, on fouille sans forc\u00e9ment trouver \u2013 en r\u00e9sum\u00e9, on s\u2019efforce. Le sujet est \u00e9tonnant et la forme encore plus. Dans l\u2019appartement d\u2019un critique d\u2019art parisien, le lecteur voit arriver des hommes et des femmes par dizaines, qui se d\u00e9shabillent totalement pour s\u2019empiler les uns sur les autres, afin de combler chaque recoin. Je ne savais pas trop si j\u2019assistais \u00e0 la finale de Lego Masters ou une soir\u00e9e Erasmus, tout est flou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et tout le restera. Car rien n\u2019est sexuellement explicite. Rien n\u2019est explicite du tout m\u00eame, on doit creuser dans le texte et d\u00e9gager parmi le flot d\u2019informations son chemin de lecture. La malice de ce roman se situe l\u00e0: donner la mati\u00e8re au lecteur et lui laisser les cl\u00e9s pour construire ce qu\u2019il veut \u00e0 partir de cela, un vague mode d\u2019emploi lacunaire \u00e0 la main. Un r\u00e9cit \u00e0 monter soi-m\u00eame fa\u00e7on Ikea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Corps sur corps, digression sur digression<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Denn <em>Comme Carthage<\/em> ne suit pas une intrigue, mais les pens\u00e9es et digressions du narrateur, qui brassent \u00e9norm\u00e9ment de sujets diff\u00e9rents, dont un qui occupe une place centrale dans le roman: le rapport au corps d\u2019athl\u00e8te et le regard de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 son propos. Tous les hommes qui se pr\u00e9sentent \u00e0 ces petites soir\u00e9es sont rugbymen professionnels, lutteurs, pompiers ou encore gymnastes. Toutefois, aucune explosion de testost\u00e9rone, tous ces corps sont vus et observ\u00e9s comme on observe les statues grecques ou romaines au mus\u00e9e. Un autre sujet pourrait \u00eatre la vacuit\u00e9 des relations. J\u2019ai \u00e9galement vu l\u2019empilement des corps comme m\u00e9taphore de la langue, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 sa saturation. Je pourrais encore vous en dire bien des choses, mais cela ne saurait effacer que ce que je vois dans ce roman ne pourrait \u00eatre que ma seule interpr\u00e9tation: chaque lecteur aura sa propre
