Il a sauv\u00e9 le monde, \u00e9crit un livre et quitt\u00e9 son job de vendeur de caf\u00e9. Mais&#8230;\u00a0sa fille a r\u00e9cemment construit un portail vers le monde quantique dans lequel toute la famille est aspir\u00e9e. L\u00e0, un nouvel ennemi semble avoir besoin de notre h\u00e9ros pour revenir sur Terre et la conqu\u00e9rir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eine <\/strong><strong>film trop grand pour lui<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Si ce r\u00e9sum\u00e9 semble flou et hasardeux, c\u2019est bien parce que le film l\u2019est. Il s\u2019av\u00e8re en effet int\u00e9ressant d\u2019analyser son cas: le film est symptomatique du probl\u00e8me de Disney dans sa \u00abphase quatre\u00bb (les productions sorties depuis <em>Avengers: Endgame<\/em>). Coinc\u00e9 dans sa position de \u00abpas assez important\u00bb pour servir de fer de lance, mais trop \u00abengag\u00e9\u00bb dans le plan g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du studio pour ne b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier que d\u2019apparitions sporadiques. En r\u00e9sulte un long-m\u00e9trage b\u00e2tard qui ne sait jamais sur quel pied danser. Ainsi, Disney l\u2019a tr\u00e8s vite entour\u00e9 de deux interpr\u00e8tes reconnus (Michael Douglas et Michelle Pfeiffer), a bard\u00e9 les sc\u00e9narios d\u2019humour et a surtout pris un tel&nbsp;recul sur son personnage en conscientisant son \u00abridicule\u00bb qu\u2019il en est devenu une simple blague d\u2019arri\u00e8re-sc\u00e8ne. Le film commence d\u2019ailleurs par un r\u00e9sum\u00e9 des derniers faits&nbsp;de son h\u00e9ros, mais celui-ci est inutile pour les fans et trop vague pour les n\u00e9ophytes. De fait, cela fonctionnait tant que la franchise se contentait d\u2019histoires mineures, mais <em>Quantumania<\/em>&nbsp;a pour volont\u00e9 de pr\u00e9senter le futur grand m\u00e9chant pour les cinq ans \u00e0 venir, et c\u2019est l\u00e0 que le b\u00e2t blesse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Un m\u00e9chant <\/strong><strong>engonc\u00e9<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019antagoniste du film, Kang le conqu\u00e9rant, est une t\u00eate bien connue des fans de comics. Il est en effet un ennemi tr\u00e8s puissant, ma\u00eetrisant le temps et les univers parall\u00e8les. Sauf qu\u2019ici, il est compliqu\u00e9 de le vendre ainsi tout en lui faisant porter la casquette \u00abd\u2019ennemi g\u00e9n\u00e9rique\u00bb, habituel de ce genre de m\u00e9trages. Ainsi, Kang est engonc\u00e9 dans un costume trop petit: parfois trop puissant, parfois trop faible. Son pouvoir, pourtant d\u00e9mesur\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019origine, est ici tellement flou qu\u2019il est utilis\u00e9 comme facilit\u00e9 sc\u00e9naristique continue. Et si cela est possible, c\u2019est parce qu\u2019il n\u2019est absolument pas introduit: le spectateur ne conna\u00eet ni l\u2019\u00e9tendue, ni les limites de ses pouvoirs, ni son pass\u00e9, ni son but.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce manquement grave au sc\u00e9nario permet alors \u00e0 Disney de ne jamais trop se mouiller quant \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation de son personnage. Et tout le film fonctionne ainsi. Si une situation para\u00eet illogique, c\u2019est parce que cela s\u2019explique hors champ. C\u2019est ce qui fonde, par exemple, l\u2019absence totale d\u2019explication quant \u00e0 la fille de Ant-Man, apparue trois minutes dans un autre film, capable soudainement de cr\u00e9er des portails vers d\u2019autres mondes. Comme le film ne l\u2019a jamais exprim\u00e9 auparavant, il est beaucoup plus simple de dire que c\u2019est \u00abpossible\u00bb. C\u2019est pour cela que personne ne crie \u00e0 l\u2019irr\u00e9el lorsque Ant-Man r\u00e9tr\u00e9cit \u2013&nbsp;c\u2019est le parti&nbsp;pris \u00e0 accepter quand on entre dans la salle. En revanche, si un personnage n\u2019a jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 montr\u00e9 en train d\u2019effectuer une action et que, pour les besoins du r\u00e9cit, il en est&nbsp;soudainement capable sans explications, cela d\u00e9passe cette suspension d\u2019incr\u00e9dulit\u00e9. Et tout le film, de m\u00eame que presque tous les derniers Marvel, fonctionne ainsi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Un film <\/strong><strong>utile pour tout apprenti sc\u00e9nariste<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Wenn <em>Ant-Man et la Gu\u00eape: Quantumania<\/em> a bien un avantage, c\u2019est d\u2019\u00e9num\u00e9rer une grande partie de tout ce qui fait d\u00e9faut dans les productions grand public actuelles. Car outre la suspension d\u2019incr\u00e9dulit\u00e9 consentie, le film souffre de facilit\u00e9s d\u2019\u00e9critures trop lourdes pour \u00eatre accept\u00e9es. Les h\u00e9ros semblent perdus? Un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne sorti du chapeau vient les sauver (concept&nbsp;appel\u00e9 le <em>Deus ex machina<\/em>).&nbsp;Une situation est trop dramatique? On ajoute une blague pour d\u00e9tendre l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re. Peyton Reed, le r\u00e9alisateur de la trilogie Ant-Man est en effet ce qu\u2019on appelle commun\u00e9ment un \u00abyes man\u00bb.\u00a0Ayant d\u00e9but\u00e9 par des com\u00e9dies l\u00e9g\u00e8res (La Rupture en 2006 et, ironiquement, Yes Man en 2009), l\u2019homme est un faiseur qui suit la direction du studio sans construire une coh\u00e9rence visuelle dans son \u0153uvre ni imposer une vraie patte. Le film se r\u00e9sume donc \u00e0 une bouillie d\u2019effets\u00a0sp\u00e9ciaux aux incrustations laides et ses com\u00e9diens (pourtant tous bons sur le papier) sont \u00e0 la ramasse.\u00a0Seuls sont \u00e0 sauver Jonathan Majors et William Jackson Harper, que l\u2019on voit ramer avec leur partition et Paul Rudd, dont le <em>timing<\/em> comique permet de sauver une ou deux blagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est donc un film pauvre et inint\u00e9ressant que nous propose Marvel pour ce d\u00e9but 2023.
