De retour aupr\u00e8s de sa famille, il ambitionne un si\u00e8ge au Conseil f\u00e9d\u00e9ral. Mais pour cela, il devra prendre la responsabilit\u00e9 de ses choix pass\u00e9s et affronter ses propres d\u00e9mons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">L\u2019Histoire incarn\u00e9e<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>La fiction historique, souvent bien plus que le documentaire, a l\u2019avantage de montrer l\u2019importance de la narration pour nous relater les faits. Pourtant, on reproche au genre de parfois tordre l\u2019Histoire, la forcer \u00e0 rentrer dans les imp\u00e9ratifs du r\u00e9cit, et donc, de la trahir. Il est normal de s\u2019insurger contre la trahison de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 \u00e0 une \u00e9poque o\u00f9 l\u2019homme qui fut un temps le plus puissant au monde invente le concept de \u00abv\u00e9rit\u00e9 alternative\u00bb. Il est toutefois n\u00e9cessaire de prendre en compte dans nos calculs l\u2019importance que rev\u00eat aujourd\u2019hui l\u2019art du <em>Storytelling<\/em>. Alors que les \u00e9crans se sont multipli\u00e9s et que nous avons acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019information d\u2019un seul geste du pouce, l\u2019enjeu est de savoir int\u00e9resser le public. Avec <em>A Forgotten Man<\/em>, le r\u00e9alisateur helv\u00e9tique Laurent N\u00e8gre l\u2019a bien compris: il a rendu son r\u00e9cit passionnant et sa r\u00e9alisation charmante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le film se pr\u00e9sente comme un thriller politique en empruntant parfois au r\u00e9cit historique, parfois au film d\u2019enqu\u00eate, afin de dynamiser l\u2019histoire qu\u2019il nous raconte. Il adopte la plupart du temps le point de vue de Heinrich Zwygart, sans jamais chercher \u00e0 mettre tout \u00e0 fait en lumi\u00e8re la nature de ses actes. Mais surtout, le personnage incarne souvent les choix de la Suisse quant \u00e0 sa position durant la guerre. Les choix discutables d\u2019Heinrich deviennent ceux d\u2019un pays qui d\u00e9cide de rester neutre lorsque ses voisins commettent les pires des atrocit\u00e9s. L\u2019homme oubli\u00e9, c\u2019est aussi une part sombre de l\u2019histoire suisse gard\u00e9e dans l\u2019ombre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Film \u00e0 charge?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pas de faux suspens: <em>A Forgotten Man<\/em> n\u2019est pas un film \u00e0 charge. Ou du moins, pas directement. S\u2019il utilise bien un \u00e9v\u00e9nement historique pour condamner les d\u00e9cisions de l\u2019ambassadeur, le reste flotte dans un flou constant. Ce pacte est pass\u00e9 d\u00e8s les premi\u00e8res images du film o\u00f9 les documents les plus importants sont br\u00fbl\u00e9s, un \u00e0 un. Son propos ne semble ainsi pas chercher \u00e0 condamner, mais \u00e0 d\u00e9montrer toutes les difficult\u00e9s de faire la lumi\u00e8re sur ces secrets bien gard\u00e9s. D\u00e8s lors, on multiplie les coupables potentiels sans jamais trancher: le gouvernement a-t-il donn\u00e9 ordre de ne pas rapatrier certains prisonniers? Est-ce que l\u2019ambassadeur a voulu prot\u00e9ger la Suisse ou son poste? Est-ce que le choix de ne pas froisser Hitler a sauv\u00e9 le pays, ou a-t-il d\u00e9truit un peuple? Autant de questions auxquelles le film d\u00e9cide de ne pas r\u00e9pondre. Plus encore, il nous incite \u00e0 ne pas y r\u00e9pondre nous-m\u00eames. C\u2019est un jeu d\u2019ambigu\u00eft\u00e9 qui se construit entre l\u2019homme, l\u2019ambassadeur et le gouvernement. Le public n\u2019est pas invit\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir le coupable. On ne peut alors que condamner l\u2019\u00e9poque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un r\u00e9cit en noir et blanc<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Si le thriller politique fonctionne ainsi, c\u2019est aussi \u2013 et surtout \u2013 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ses qualit\u00e9s cin\u00e9matographiques dont on parle parfois peu avec ce genre de films. Ici, il faut saluer la distribution tr\u00e8s bien dirig\u00e9e, \u00e0 commencer par Michael Neuenschwander qui parvient \u00e0 nous faire ressentir du d\u00e9go\u00fbt comme de l\u2019admiration, de l\u2019empathie comme de la haine. Il incarne ainsi toutes les tensions historiques d\u2019un pays qui a r\u00e9sist\u00e9 sans \u00eatre exemplaire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le reste du casting est \u00e0 saluer aussi, comme le jeune Fribourgeois Yann Philipona, apparaissant dans un second r\u00f4le de beau-fils banal avant de monter en puissance et de surprendre le public. Il faut aussi mentionner la pr\u00e9sence de Peter Wyssbrod qui, du haut de son \u00e2ge, pr\u00eate ses traits \u00e0 un ancien militaire nostalgique du fusil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une autre qualit\u00e9 de ce long-m\u00e9trage est sa dur\u00e9e: en 1h30 \u00e0 peine, <em>A Forgotten Man<\/em> se montre efficace et va souvent \u00e0 l\u2019essentiel, m\u00eame si l\u2019on aurait aim\u00e9 que certaines relations soient quelquefois plus approfondies. On peut n\u00e9anmoins regretter le choix de mettre en sc\u00e8ne des moments de folie qui n\u2019en sont pas. Ce fil un peu trop us\u00e9 jure avec l\u2019ensemble du film et casse le rythme g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Heureusement, l\u2019image b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie du noir-blanc moderne, offrant son lot de plans esth\u00e9tiques, qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse des visages comme des jardins, et permet au film, parfois, de manquer de rythme sans que cela lui soit r\u00e9ellement dommageable, puisqu\u2019il est beau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>A Forgotten Man<\/em> vaut largement le d\u00e9placement en salle. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 pens\u00e9 pour \u00eatre accessible et s\u2019\u00e9loigner autant que possible de la froideur du documentaire afin de rencontrer son public.
