Their twelve-year-old son, Alyosha (Matvei Novikov), is fed up with their quarrels and sobs in silence. He's so desperately in need of his parents' love that it will take them some time to notice that he's run away. Or his kidnapping, who knows. His disappearance, however, will do nothing to alleviate the hatred the separating couple feel for each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Faute d'amour<\/em>, is the film that the French-language press is currently worshipping with near-unanimity. This fifth feature from Russian director Andrei Zviaguintsev won the Prix du Jury at the Cannes Film Festival. The film's strength? Its realism, on the one hand, and its art, on the other. Two elements that, when well combined, result in a masterpiece - just think of Flaubert in the field of literature, who managed to slip the greatest literary genius into a film. <em>Madame Bovary<\/em>, a novel <em>a priori<\/em> difficult to read because of its intrinsic boredom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Une peinture noire de la Russie actuelle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>De la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re,\u00a0<em>Faute d'amour<\/em> est un film difficile \u00e0 regarder.\u00a0Port\u00e9e par une tension constante, son atmosph\u00e8re lasse, exasp\u00e8re, indigne m\u00eame le spectateur. Dure t\u00e2che, en effet, que d&#8217;assister \u00e0 la repr\u00e9sentation d&#8217;un couple si repr\u00e9sentatif des maux actuels. D&#8217;autant plus quand cela se passe dans la capitale d&#8217;une Russie en plein mal-\u00eatre. Boris, le mari, a de la peine \u00e0 prendre ses responsabilit\u00e9s;\u00a0Genia, sa femme, est un \u00eatre superficiel et empli de haine. Tous deux se ressemblent dans leur individualisme fou et leur cynisme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La catastrophe soci\u00e9tale dont ils sont les figurants se refl\u00e8te dans le d\u00e9cor de la m\u00e9tropole. Du gris, du blanc noirci, du noir blanchi. La banlieue moscovite appara\u00eet comme un puits de tristesse et de morosit\u00e9. Le regard du r\u00e9alisateur aura r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 capter cette r\u00e9alit\u00e9 quotidienne, par les couleurs dont nous parlions, par cette neige qui tombe sur le d\u00e9but et la fin du film. Par cette laideur, cette froideur, cette rudesse que l&#8217;on retrouve dans la langue m\u00eame. Et par des cadrages, des mouvements de cam\u00e9ra tr\u00e8s subtils, qui participent \u00e0 son talent de r\u00e9alisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La vraie cible du film? L&#8217;\u00eatre contemporain<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Les d\u00e9nonciations politiques du pays ne manquent pas non plus. La militarisation de l&#8217;Etat russe, la question de l&#8217;Ukraine, le manque de d\u00e9mocratie et le poids de l&#8217;orthodoxie, autant de th\u00e8mes subtilement int\u00e9gr\u00e9s \u00e0 l&#8217;arri\u00e8re-fond sonore et visuel. Difficile cependant de qualifier\u00a0Zviaguintsev de russophobe: la vraie cible de son film, c&#8217;est l&#8217;\u00eatre contemporain, ce plouc scotch\u00e9 \u00e0 son t\u00e9l\u00e9phone portable, se construisant un pseudo-bonheur \u00e0 force d&#8217;aventures sexuelles, biberonn\u00e9 au supermarch\u00e9, obs\u00e9d\u00e9 par ses petits probl\u00e8mes de rien du tout et indigne d&#8217;\u00e9lever un enfant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un vrai malaise s&#8217;empare des salles de cin\u00e9ma avec ce film. Comme une honte qui nous saisit, nous qui nous reconnaissons parfois dans certains traits de caract\u00e8re d\u00e9nonc\u00e9s par le cin\u00e9aste. Cette critique crue va-t-elle n\u00e9anmoins trop loin? La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 qu&#8217;entend pointer du doigt Zviaguintsev est-elle trop apocalyptique? Peut-\u00eatre. Mais la le\u00e7on op\u00e8re, et elle n&#8217;est pas morale. C&#8217;est une le\u00e7on de vie, qui s&#8217;exprime par un art magnifiquement russe dans son \u00e2me. Comme l&#8217;a dit Eric Neuhoff dans l&#8217;\u00e9mission <em>Le Masque et La Plume<\/em>,\u00a0\u00abc\u2019est un film dont on sort d\u00e9vast\u00e9.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pari r\u00e9ussi, donc,
