Problems with the kids, the subway-work-sleep routine. The typical commuter, with his habits, his acquaintances on the train. The lead actor is the very embodiment of the American dream. He's the Irishman who came to the USA to build a career and feed his family, also formed on the continent. \u00abThe American dream\u00bb, without falling into clich\u00e9s. The emphasis is on hard work, values and humility. Everything rolls, everything unfolds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"p1 wp-block-heading\">Et soudain, le point de bascule<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Cette vie de r\u00eave, ou du moins ce parcours de conqu\u00e9rant, va devoir affronter un mur et m\u00eame le gravir. Ce dernier prend la forme d\u2019un licenciement pour le vieillissant et co\u00fbteux Michael MacCauley, interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 par Liam Neeson<\/span>. C\u2019est le d\u00e9but d\u2019une suite bien moins idyllique et logique. A partir de l\u00e0, le film glisse dans l\u2019irrationnel. Tout d\u2019abord, le mari mod\u00e8le qui discutait de tout avec sa femme ne veut pas lui parler de son renvoi. Il pr\u00e9f\u00e8re oublier en enquillant les bi\u00e8res, dans un bar miteux avec un ex-coll\u00e8gue. Sorti de nulle part. Sans vraie raison. En bref, depuis l\u00e0, le film perd de sa saveur. Alors que, paradoxalement, son rythme s&#8217;acc\u00e9l\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">Michael finit par reprendre le m\u00e9tro pour rentrer chez lui. Il re\u00e7oit un appel anonyme qui lui confie une mission contre de l\u2019argent. La mission constitue la suite du film. C\u2019est l\u2019\u00e9nigme, le fil conducteur. L&#8217;\u00e9l\u00e9ment central, Mais l\u2019ensemble est si caricatural que l\u2019entrain naissant s\u2019\u00e9teint vite, remplac\u00e9 par l\u2019ennui et les soupirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">Au final, le sc\u00e9nario est cousu de fil blanc, n\u2019\u00e9tonne personne et fatigue par ses incessantes r\u00e9p\u00e9titions. Par ses exag\u00e9rations. En tentant d\u2019animer son film, l\u2019auteur l\u2019a noy\u00e9. Trop d\u2019allers-retours entre les wagons de ce m\u00e9tro en piteux \u00e9tat, trop de sc\u00e8nes illogiques et peu cr\u00e9dibles tant elles d\u00e9passent l\u2019entendement, finissent par agacer le spectateur. Tout est trop gros, tout est trop facile, tout est couru d\u2019avance. Les r\u00f4les sont des parodies: le m\u00e9chant banquier, l\u2019\u00e9trang\u00e8re infirmi\u00e8re, l\u2019enfant abandonn\u00e9. On y retrouve tout; on n&#8217;appr\u00e9cie pas grand-chose. Et \u00e9videment, tout se termine bien. M\u00eame l\u00e0, c&#8217;est rat\u00e9. Malgr\u00e9 une distribution assur\u00e9ment int\u00e9ressante et un acteur principal tr\u00e8s \u00e0 l&#8217;aise dans son r\u00f4le, le r\u00e9sultat global laisse \u00e0
