A young boy, Tsering, walks seven kilometers to school every day. The landscapes he crosses are resplendent with beauty, as are his face and that of his classmates. His return journey is complicated when the ten-year-old decides to take a broken chair back to his village, to use as firewood.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em>Walking with the wind<\/em> is one of twelve films in the running for the International Feature Film Award at the Fribourg International Film Festival. Directed by Praveen Morchhale, the film differs from the classical Indian cinema currently being produced. Singularly philosophical, it appeals to audiences of all ages, from the little man who can recognize himself in the protagonist to the fifty-something bourgeois-bohemian who subscribes to the FIFF.<\/p>\n<p>A very good vintage for this feature-length film, whose cinematography is to be commended above all else. For the Himalayan images alone, it's well worth popping along to one of the upcoming screenings, which will also benefit from the presence of the filmmaker. His film is making the rounds around the world, and no doubt deservedly so.
