L\u2019\u00e9cran montre un rideau flou, qui s\u2019ouvre tout \u00e0 coup sur l\u2019antre du patient. C\u2019est l\u2019histoire d\u2019un enfant malade. \u00ab Tantra a une tumeur dans le cerveau [&#8230;] Ses sens sont touch\u00e9s.\u00a0\u00bb Des mots que la m\u00e8re ne comprend pas. Ne peut pas comprendre. Que le p\u00e8re tente d\u2019expliquer, se faisant l\u2019interm\u00e9diaire du m\u00e9decin. Tantra, le gar\u00e7on malade, a une s\u0153ur jumelle, Tantri.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Port\u00e9 par un r\u00e9el soin de l\u2019image, des jeux de clair-obscur ainsi qu\u2019une musique bien dos\u00e9e et bien plac\u00e9e, compos\u00e9e par Yasuhiro Morinaga,\u00a0<em>The Seen and Unseen<\/em>\u00a0arrive \u00e0 traiter ce sujet grave en le transformant en une insoup\u00e7onnable po\u00e9sie. Alors que tout dans le film est port\u00e9 \u00e0 nous d\u00e9payser \u2013 les notes m\u00eame de la gamme indon\u00e9sienne ne sont pas les <em>fa<\/em> et les <em>sol<\/em> que nous connaissons \u2013 tout nous appara\u00eet pourtant comme familier. Car ce n\u2019est rien d\u2019autre que l\u2019espoir d\u2019une famille face \u00e0 la maladie qui est racont\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h3>Une \u00e9vasion dans l\u2019imaginaire<\/h3>\n<p>Tantra souffre d\u2019une d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rescence lui faisant perdre ses sens. Il ne ressent plus le chaud, ni le froid. Il ne sent m\u00eame plus ses jambes. \u00ab C\u2019est tout pareil\u00a0\u00bb, comme il le dit \u00e0 sa s\u0153ur. Le drame est total. D\u00e9bordant de fatalit\u00e9. Si, comme le soutenait le philosophe Berkeley, \u00eatre, c\u2019est \u00eatre per\u00e7u (<em>esse est percipi<\/em>), qu\u2019est-ce donc que vivre sans percevoir ? La non-sensation n\u2019est-elle pas un non-sens absolu ?<\/p>\n<p>Pour \u00e9chapper au deuil anticip\u00e9 de son fr\u00e8re, Tantri se r\u00e9fugie dans un monde imaginaire, fait d\u2019oiseaux, d\u2019ombres, de mythologie indon\u00e9sienne. Dans cet univers magique, la lune occupe une place d\u00e9terminante, en particulier la pleine lune. Le jeune gar\u00e7on lui-m\u00eame se compare \u00e0 elle : \u00ab j\u2019ai l\u2019impression d\u2019\u00eatre la lune, si brillante. Mais au bout d\u2019un moment, elle perd son \u00e9clat.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Au cours d\u2019une sc\u00e8ne, on voit la s\u0153ur de Trantra, cach\u00e9e, surprendre sa m\u00e8re en train de s\u2019effondrer en larmes dans la cuisine. A la presque toute-fin du film, Tantri se couche contre son fr\u00e8re, l\u2019enla\u00e7ant sur son lit d\u2019h\u00f4pital, lui qui ne sent plus rien. Ces deux moments ne constituent que des exemples d\u2019un film r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 chaque instant, pour une simple et bonne raison :\u00a0<em>The Seen and Unseen<\/em> est \u00e0 hauteur d\u2019enfant.
