Cet homme organise avec ses employ\u00e9s un improbable et hilarant bracage au magasin v\u00e9gan du fr\u00e8re indien de sa femme. Mais lorsqu&#8217;un \u00e9trange type pr\u00e9nomm\u00e9 Colin (Jemaine Clement), embauch\u00e9 par le fr\u00e8re de Lulu, tente de r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer l&#8217;argent, Lulu prend la fuite avec lui dans l&#8217;intention d&#8217;assister au spectacle magique de Beverly Luff Linn (Craig Robinson). \u00ab Mais qui est Beverly Luff Linn?! \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Cette com\u00e9die d\u00e9jant\u00e9e et loufoque est amen\u00e9e par des acteurs brillants qui n&#8217;h\u00e9sitent pas \u00e0 se ridiculiser pour amuser la galerie. Si parfois l&#8217;humour demeure enfantin, son c\u00f4t\u00e9 volontairement ringard contribue \u00e0 cr\u00e9er l&#8217;ambiance <em>seventies<\/em> d\u00e9cal\u00e9e que le r\u00e9alisateur ma\u00eetrise parfaitement. On a donc envie de pardonner \u00e0 ce film ses moments g\u00eanants, car cette com\u00e9die est avant tout une belle histoire d&#8217;amour.<\/p>\n<h3>Un univers d&#8217;amour et d&#8217;humour<\/h3>\n<p>Entre perruques, tasses de th\u00e9 et cocktails sucr\u00e9s, des personnages touchants et attendrissants se dessinent au fur et \u00e0 mesure. La belle et charmante Lulu, qui tente de panser les blessures du pass\u00e9, est une femme qui d\u00e9cide de prendre son destin en main. Quant aux autres personnages, nous n&#8217;en dirons pas plus pour vous laisser d\u00e9couvrir leur tendresse cach\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Au-del\u00e0 du sc\u00e9nario, le d\u00e9cor est construit avec soin et les costumes deviennent presque un personnage \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re. Le cadre est l\u00e9ch\u00e9, malgr\u00e9 ces personnages mal-l\u00e9ch\u00e9s, et les tons pastel dominent. Jim Hosking nous plonge ind\u00e9niablement dans un univers suspendu, un microcosme absurde qui pourtant porte tout son sens.<\/p>\n<p>Le spectateur est tr\u00e8s vite captiv\u00e9 par l&#8217;histoire ; pour preuve, le public de hier soir aux Arcades interagissait souvent avec l&#8217;\u00e9cran, en applaudissant, en rigolant, en r\u00e9agissant aux sc\u00e8nes comiques ou aux actions des personnages. Nous sommes vite pris, nous partageons les \u00e9motions du petit monde de cet univers d\u00e9jant\u00e9. Les ambiances, la musique, le jeu d&#8217;acteur op\u00e8rent une \u00e9trange attraction qui nous fait accepter l&#8217;absurdit\u00e9 de certains moments, peut-\u00eatre parce qu&#8217;elle souligne la forte humanit\u00e9 de ces personnages.<\/p>\n<p>Pour passer vous aussi une soir\u00e9e magique avec Beverly Luff Linn, rendez-vous au NIFFF le vendredi 13 juillet prochain.<\/p>\n<p>[table id=7
