Here's a look back at another magical evening.<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Lire l\u2019article long format (abonn\u00e9s)-->\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abToute la musique que j\u2019aime, elle vient de l\u00e0, elle vient du blues\u00bb, disait l\u2019autre. Oui, le blues est \u00e0 l\u2019origine de toutes les musiques qui ont v\u00e9ritablement compt\u00e9 ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, rel\u00e9guant (h\u00e9las!) la musique classique au rang d\u2019inspiration lointaine ou de distraction pour personnes d\u2019un certain \u00e2ge. Or le monde se divise en deux cat\u00e9gories: ceux qui aiment le jazz et ceux qui aiment le rock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read also | <a href=\"https:\/\/leregardlibre.com\/en\/2018\/06\/30\/paolo-conte-a-enchante-lauditorium-stravinski-suivi-par-etienne-daho\/\">Paolo Conte enchanted the Auditorium Stravinski, followed by Etienne Daho<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La soir\u00e9e propos\u00e9e par le Montreux Jazz Festival hier soir avait ce pouvoir de r\u00e9unir ces deux groupes de personnes apparemment proches mais qui, en r\u00e9alit\u00e9, se diff\u00e9rencient fondamentalement dans leur rapport \u00e0 la musique. Radicalement distincts, les <em>jazz men<\/em> and <em>rock men<\/em> sont cependant cousins, puisqu\u2019ils descendent tous de <em>mister blues man<\/em>. Ce fut donc une sorte de f\u00eate de famille que nous avons v\u00e9cue \u00e0 l\u2019Auditorium Stravinski, puisque la salle a vu se produire Van Morrison, <em>the<\/em> l\u00e9gende du blues jazz, et Steve Winwood, <em>the<\/em> l\u00e9gende du blues rock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Van Morrison, l\u2019inclassable et sobre bougre \u00e0 la voix-instrument<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone size-full wp-image-16301\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/leregardlibre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Van-Morrison-2.jpg\" alt=\"Van Morrison\" class=\"wp-image-16301\"\/><figcaption>Van Morrison, in\u00e9galable chanteur et saxophoniste&nbsp;\u00a9 2018 FFJM &#8211; Lionel Flusin<br><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>George Ivan Morrison, dit Van Morrison, c\u2019est ce puriste du jazz \u00e0 l\u2019allure de beauf dont les ray-bans semblent lui \u00f4ter la possibilit\u00e9 de percevoir son \u00e9poque. Totalement hors du temps et du monde, cet Irlandais caract\u00e9riel intrigue un large public large depuis cinquante ans en cultivant un sens du secret et une musique&nbsp;rhythm\u2019n\u2019blues qui met \u00e0 l\u2019honneur le jazz et le blues traditionnels. Porteur d\u2019une voix limpide et qui semble s\u2019\u00eatre toujours exprim\u00e9e par des <em>blue notes<\/em>, Van Morrison est si coh\u00e9rent et pr\u00e9cis qu\u2019il en devient presque lassant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><span style=\"color:#000\" class=\"tadv-color\">Read also | <a href=\"https:\/\/leregardlibre.com\/en\/cinema\/beyond-the-blue-note\/\">Beyond the blue note<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est cette impression paradoxale qui nous restera du concert donn\u00e9e par \u00abVan the Man\u00bb hier soir, nous for\u00e7ant \u00e0 assumer un bilan mitig\u00e9. G\u00e9nial, l\u2019artiste l\u2019est ind\u00e9niablement, ma\u00eetrisant son genre musical comme&nbsp;personne&nbsp;\u2013 puisque d\u2019ailleurs personne ne se risque \u00e0 jouer une telle musique en 2018&nbsp;\u2013 mais il faut bien avouer qu\u2019on commence \u00e0 bailler apr\u00e8s le dixi\u00e8me morceau. Malgr\u00e9 les solos fulgurants de saxophone, d\u2019harmonica ou de piano propos\u00e9s par Van Morrison entre deux couplets, malgr\u00e9 sa voix elle-m\u00eame instrument d\u2019improvisation et malgr\u00e9 les excellents solos de ses musiciens, un ennui s\u2019installe: c\u2019est \u00e0 chaque fois le m\u00eame sch\u00e9ma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Steve Winwood, sa guitare \u00e9lectrique, son orgue Hammond et son verre de vin<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Apr\u00e8s quelques rafra\u00eechissements, place au repr\u00e9sentant de l\u2019autre branche du grand arbre qu\u2019est le blues, le rockeur Steve Winwood. Son nom ne vous dit rien? Pourtant, il le m\u00e9riterait. Br\u00e8ve r\u00e9trospective: \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge de quinze ans, il est l\u2019un des membres du Spencer Davis Group, o\u00f9 son maniement virtuose de l\u2019orgue Hammond laisse d\u00e9j\u00e0 sans voix. Si bien qu\u2019il joue avec un certain Jimy Hendrix sur <em>Voodoo Chile<\/em> et avec d\u2019autres <em>guitar heroes<\/em>. Encha\u00eenant des morceaux plus d\u00e9licieux les uns que les autres, il nous a fait danser sur ses notes de guitare \u00e9lectrique, qu\u2019il joue en m\u00eame temps qu\u2019il chante, fr\u00f4lant les records d\u2019un Mark Knopfler, ou sur celles, plus envo\u00fbtantes encore, de son classique orgue Hammond. Signe de la grandeur de l\u2019homme: un verre de vin \u00e9tait pos\u00e9 \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l\u2019instrument, qu\u2019il a d\u00e9gust\u00e9 tandis que son batteur se perdait dans un solo virtuose.
