Fridays of the\u00a0<\/em>microbrewery - Max Moeschler<\/i><\/p>\n

In Biel, on the shores of the lake of the same name, the Lago Lodge has established itself as a must-visit venue for beer lovers, but not only. By bringing together a youth hostel, restaurant and craft brewery under the same roof, the establishment has found the recipe for success it has enjoyed for almost twenty years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ideally located on the shores of Lake Biel, close to the railway station, the town center and the busy port of Nidau, the Lago Lodge could hardly dream of a better location. Founded in 1999, it enjoys an ideal setting and is popular with an extremely diverse clientele. Indeed, while its reputation is built primarily around its famous beers (to which I'll return in a moment), its youth hostel attracts many tourists, both Swiss and foreign, as well as school classes. The restaurant offers excellent seasonal dishes and local produce.<\/p>\n

The brasserie, located just behind the bar and in full view of the public, has been the pride of the establishment since its inception. All year round, it offers its now classic German beers: blonde, brunette and the \u00absp\u00e9ciale\u00bb, a surprising hemp-flavored amber that has become one of the most popular beers in the world. bestsellers<\/em> of the premises. Numerous special beers, all original and distinctive, punctuate the year. These include, among many others, \u00abl'abeille\u00bb, a popular honey-flavored blonde, \u00abla cascade\u00bb, an amber beer named after the highly aromatic hops used to create it, and \u00abginger\u00bb, with its strong ginger aroma. All beers are made from organic and local ingredients.<\/p>\n

Finally, its proximity to Biel's gymnasiums is certainly no stranger to the almost mythical status conferred on the establishment by many locals. Indeed, it was here that many of them first dipped their still hesitant lips in a beer (craft or otherwise). These hoppy escapades with their forbidden taste and sometimes tinged with excess are still engraved in many memories in the region, adding the inimitable taste of nostalgia to that of the coveted Lago Lodge beers.<\/p>\n
