Musumeci<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u00abThe devil will tempt you continually.\u00bb&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">Jared Eamons is wise and devout. A true American boy who works hard at school, obeys his parents with whom he talks a lot, helps out at his dad's Ford garage, and never misses a Sunday at church. The father's a pastor, so it's normal. Jared has friends who are good guys, and he even has a girlfriend. When he leaves home to study at university, he discovers - or admits to - a penchant for boys; increasingly imposing. Circumstances dictate that his parents are notified by the university. Unacceptable. The young man has to be corrected, put back on the right track. Fortunately, the Love in Action Institute specializes in sexual reorientation. Even if it means using somewhat dubious methods. Jared's story is a true one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Histoire vraie, histoire d\u2019une souffrance, histoire d\u2019intol\u00e9rance et de discrimination, donc touchant? Bof. Effectivement, quiconque entend qu\u2019un jeune est harcel\u00e9 parce qu\u2019homo ne reste pas indiff\u00e9rent. Oui, on a mal au c\u0153ur pour lui, on se dit qu\u2019il doit vivre un calvaire dans sa famille puritaine, et que tout cela est injuste. N\u00e9anmoins, cela ne suffit pas \u00e0 faire du cin\u00e9ma, ou du moins du bon cin\u00e9ma. A part l\u2019affiche du film qui est tr\u00e8s r\u00e9ussie, rien dans la photographie ne tape \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153il. Pas m\u00eame la lumi\u00e8re \u00e0 travers les vitraux de l\u2019\u00e9glise, ou les mouvements de cam\u00e9ra, ou encore le rythme.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"BOY ERASED Bande Annonce (2019) Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/64sH4Ci88nw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>M\u00eame s\u2019il faut avouer que les plans ont au moins une constance: celle de jouer avec l\u2019isolement de Jared et des autres homosexuels en th\u00e9rapie. Le sc\u00e9nario ne r\u00e9ussit pas plus \u00e0 convaincre: trop de retours en arri\u00e8re dans le temps qui lancinent sans doute le protagoniste mais moyennement le public. Les personnages manquent de nuances; dommage, parce que la volont\u00e9 de leur en offrir y est, et on le sent. Malgr\u00e9 ce d\u00e9faut, le personnage le mieux incarn\u00e9 reste tout de m\u00eame celui de Jared. L\u2019acteur se donne pour r\u00e9v\u00e9ler le mal-\u00eatre de celui qu\u2019il interpr\u00e8te. Il parvient en outre \u00e0 jouer avec brio la soumission \u00e0 ses parents. Et franchement, \u00e7a fait plaisir. Parce que m\u00eame si le film n\u2019est pas tr\u00e8s bon, il offre au moins un t\u00e9moignage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au niveau de l\u2019histoire vraie de Garrad Conley, l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat est certain. Elle livre une information sur l\u2019existence de ce genre de centre ainsi que sur les pratiques qui s\u2019y d\u00e9roulent. Rien que pour cela,&nbsp;<em>Boy Erased<\/em> en vaut la peine. D\u2019ailleurs, un tel sujet aurait pu gravir les Oscars s\u2019il avait \u00e9t\u00e9 tourn\u00e9 avec beaucoup plus d\u2019habilet\u00e9. Je pense d\u2019ailleurs qu\u2019il y en a chez Joel Edgerton, r\u00e9alisateur et acteur. Il n\u2019en est qu\u2019\u00e0 ses d\u00e9buts derri\u00e8re la cam\u00e9ra. Qu\u2019il se fasse la main, ou qu\u2019il reste acteur. A lui de voir. En tout cas, outre le choix du sujet, il faut lui reconna\u00eetre le talent d\u2019avoir trait\u00e9 l\u2019homosexualit\u00e9 sans sc\u00e8ne de sexe \u2013 \u00e0 l\u2019exception d\u2019une, assez particuli\u00e8re et discr\u00e8te. C\u2019est louable! Non pas au nom d\u2019une biens\u00e9ance d\u00e9su\u00e8te aujourd\u2019hui, mais plut\u00f4t d\u2019une pudeur qui s\u2019abstient du voyeurisme, et qui montre que Jared n\u2019en fait pas son souci principal.
