Entre r\u00e9p\u00e9titions th\u00e9\u00e2trales et longs monologues cyniques et d\u00e9sabus\u00e9s, Bruscon parle au grincheux en chacun de nous.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Lire l'article-->\n\n\n\n<p>Avant le d\u00e9but de la repr\u00e9sentation, sur le plateau, un aubergiste, v\u00eatu avec une petite toque de chef et un gilet de peau, l\u00e9g\u00e8rement enrob\u00e9, dort sur un tabouret. Comme promis par l\u2019annonceur, un lever de rideau, inspir\u00e9 de <em>Jacques le fataliste et son ma\u00eetre<\/em>, laisse entrer deux clowns, au look de punks avec des <em>tee-shirts<\/em> \u00abSex Pistols\u00bb. Apr\u00e8s quelques galipettes, nos deux clowns-punks, en bons philosophes, se lancent avec l\u2019aubergiste, dans une longue dissertation sur le destin: \u00abtout ce qui arrive de bien ou de mal est \u00e9crit l\u00e0-haut.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alors, le spectateur s\u2019interroge: si tout est d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9crit, \u00e0 quoi cela sert-il de lutter contre l\u2019in\u00e9vitable? Au lieu de cela, faisons les pitres! Et voil\u00e0 donc ass\u00e9n\u00e9, le fil conducteur de la fable qui se d\u00e9voilera, bient\u00f4t, \u00e0 nos yeux. En attendant, l\u2019aubergiste, en tant que force tranquille, se dresse droit et ferme face au chaos hurlant incarn\u00e9 par les bouffons. Suite \u00e0 une l\u00e9g\u00e8re lutte, les trois personnages sortent, le lever de rideau prend fin et s\u2019ouvre sur <em>Le faiseur de th\u00e9\u00e2tre<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Un protagoniste qui \u00aba la haine\u00bb\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>La fable repr\u00e9sent\u00e9e se r\u00e9sume \u2013 assez \u2013 simplement: Bruscon et sa famille s\u2019installent dans le petit village d\u2019Utzbach, contr\u00e9e rurale de l\u2019Autriche. Au sein de l\u2019auberge, le com\u00e9dien d\u2019Etat ne cesse de r\u00e9p\u00e9ter au tenancier que, pour que sa fameuse pi\u00e8ce \u00abLa roue de l\u2019histoire\u00bb soit un succ\u00e8s, il faut absolument \u00e9teindre la lumi\u00e8re de la sortie de secours et qu\u2019il vaudrait mieux que le chef des pompiers ne s\u2019oppose pas \u00e0 cela. Avec cette condition <em>sine qua non<\/em> en t\u00eate, les spectateurs suivent Bruscon dans ses longs soliloques sur l\u2019art, le th\u00e9\u00e2tre, la mis\u00e8re intellectuelle et ses relations familiales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le p\u00e8re Bruscon a tout de l\u2019image du vieil artiste d\u00e9cr\u00e9pi et d\u00e9chu; cheveux gris et barbe non-taill\u00e9e, long manteau noir, haut et sec, de faible sant\u00e9, il rend la vie intenable \u00e0 ses proches. Nul ne devine r\u00e9ellement le motif qui l\u2019a conduit \u00e0 venir s\u2019installer \u00e0 Utzbach. Or, au vu de son caract\u00e8re peu enviable, nous pouvons supposer que la \u00abgrande ville\u00bb ne supporte plus ce com\u00e9dien un tantinet trop psychorigide. Bruscon, comme diraient certains jeunes, \u00aba la haine\u00bb: il digresse, seul, en vocif\u00e9rant, en donnant des ordres, soit \u00e0 ses enfants, Sarah et Ferruccio, soit \u00e0 l\u2019aubergiste qui, bon gr\u00e9 mal gr\u00e9 mais toujours sto\u00efque, supporte son h\u00f4te. Et ce, m\u00eame lorsqu\u2019\u00e0 plusieurs reprises, Bruscon, scandalis\u00e9 par ce qu\u2019il consid\u00e8re comme des atteintes \u00e0 \u00abson Art\u00bb, \u00e9clate en disant: \u00abTous des nazis!\u00bb, \u00abCette Autriche, tous des nationaux-socialistes!\u00bb et autres joyeuset\u00e9s historiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sur le plateau, comme pour souligner son autorit\u00e9, Bruscon commande les d\u00e9placements des autres personnages. Tout d\u2019abord, l\u2019aubergiste qui doit d\u00e9placer quatre fois la table du com\u00e9dien \u00e0 des angles diff\u00e9rents de la sc\u00e8ne. Ensuite, son fils, Benjamin, un \u00abcom\u00e9dien rat\u00e9\u00bb, selon son g\u00e9niteur, et qui, le bras cass\u00e9, doit s\u2019entra\u00eener \u00e0 \u00abbien tirer le rideau\u00bb \u2013 on soulignera, notamment, le comique de situation tr\u00e8s r\u00e9ussi. En effet, Ferruccio, avec son bras pl\u00e2tr\u00e9, s\u2019efforce, parfois sans succ\u00e8s, \u00e0 tirer ce rideau de droite \u00e0 gauche et vice-versa, sur ordre de son p\u00e8re qui, bien content de l\u2019humilier, se fait un plaisir de faire durer le supplice pour le gar\u00e7on manchot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quelques attitudes et gestuelles de Bruscon \u2013 regards langoureux, caresses inappropri\u00e9es, prise sur les genoux,\u2026 \u2013 envers sa fille, Sarah, tendent \u00e0 nous d\u00e9voiler une relation particuli\u00e8re avec des sous-entendus incestueux entre ces deux personnages. En effet, et ce exclusivement \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard de sa fille, il se montre souvent soucieux et veille \u00ab\u00e0 ne pas g\u00e2ter son talent\u00bb et \u00abqu\u2019elle ne se fasse pas contaminer par les autres rat\u00e9s\u00bb, notamment sa m\u00e8re qui \u2013 la pauvre \u2013 ne fait pas de grands traits de l\u2019esprit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00abUtzbach comme Butzsbach\u00bb<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u2019ailleurs, de Madame Bruscon, parlons-en! Il s\u2019agit (presque) du personnage le plus effac\u00e9 de la pi\u00e8ce; absente jusqu\u2019environ aux deux tiers de la repr\u00e9sentation, \u00e0 l\u2019heure du \u00abbouillon \u00e0 l\u2019omelette\u00bb. D\u00e8s son arriv\u00e9e, elle semble malade et tousse souvent, ce qui l\u2019emp\u00eache de r\u00e9pondre aux invectives de son mari. Or, chose intrigante, Madame Bruscon poss\u00e8de le privil\u00e8ge d\u2019avoir le \u00abmot de la fin\u00bb, puisqu\u2019elle cl\u00f4t la repr\u00e9sentation en enjambant le corps de Bruscon, frapp\u00e9 d\u2019une sorte de crise cardiaque. Nous pourrions consid\u00e9rer cela comme une sorte de vengeance de la part de ce personnage ou, comme nous l\u2019allons montrer tout \u00e0 l\u2019heure, le rappel d\u2019une sorte de fatalit\u00e9 mise en avant par la repr\u00e9sentation, \u00e0 travers la figure de la roue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le personnage le plus effac\u00e9 de toute la pi\u00e8ce n\u2019est pas Madame Bruscon, mais bel et bien le chef des sapeurs-pompiers du village d\u2019Utzbach. En effet, souvent mentionn\u00e9, ce dernier n\u2019appara\u00eet jamais physiquement sur sc\u00e8ne mais se voit relay\u00e9 par l\u2019aubergiste qui assure la liaison entre lui et Bruscon. Aussi, alors que son r\u00f4le de d\u00e9cisionnaire \u2013 accordera-t-il l\u2019autorisation \u00e0 Bruscon d\u2019\u00e9teindre la lumi\u00e8re de la sortie de secours pour sa repr\u00e9sentation ou non? \u2013 lui octroie un r\u00f4le pr\u00e9dominant dans l\u2019intrigue de la pi\u00e8ce, les attentes du spectateur finissent par \u00eatre quelque peu d\u00e9\u00e7ues par l\u2019auteur, Thomas Bernhard. Alors que le public se pr\u00e9pare \u00e0 quelques emb\u00fbches dress\u00e9es par le chef des pompiers \u00e0 l\u2019encontre de ce vieux Bruscon, rien n\u2019y fait\u2026 L\u2019autorisation d\u2019extinction parvient, par la bouche de l\u2019aubergiste, sans aucune difficult\u00e9; la lumi\u00e8re de la sortie de secours ne rel\u00e8ve pas vraiment d\u2019un r\u00e9el probl\u00e8me; il ne s\u2019agit, en fait, que d\u2019un simple signe contingent qui, de toute mani\u00e8re, n\u2019emp\u00eachera pas la fatalit\u00e9 de se produire: la roue de la fortune tourne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u2019ailleurs, comble du malheur, ce cher protagoniste atterrit dans ce village d\u2019Utzbach qu\u2019il d\u00e9teste par-dessus tout. A plusieurs reprises, celui-ci soulignera cette dichotomie entre la campagne Utzbach et Butzbach, la ville, en employant la formule \u00abUtzbach comme Butzbach\u00bb. Plus qu\u2019une simple expression, celle-ci recouvre tout un r\u00e9seau de dualit\u00e9s venant opposer \u2013 du point de vue de Bruscon \u2013 Utzbach \u00e0 Butzbach. Premi\u00e8rement sur la question du succ\u00e8s et de l\u2019anonymat, alors qu\u2019\u00e0 Utzbach Bruscon et sa famille sont d\u2019illustres inconnus, en ville, \u00e0 Butzbach, ils jouissaient de leur statut de \u00abcom\u00e9diens d\u2019Etat\u00bb. Deuxi\u00e8mement, la gastronomie s\u2019invite \u00e0 la tabl\u00e9e critique: alors qu\u2019\u00e0 la campagne, on \u00e9l\u00e8ve des porcs pour fabriquer des saucisses et que l\u2019on mange du \u00abbouillon \u00e0 l\u2019omelette\u00bb, Bruscon soliloque sur sa nostalgie des mets raffin\u00e9s de la ville et son d\u00e9go\u00fbt du \u00abbouillon \u00e0 l\u2019omelette\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>La \u00abroue de l\u2019histoire\u00bb<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Rien ne laisse le spectateur plus curieux que cette fameuse pi\u00e8ce qui, dans l\u2019univers de la fable, devrait \u00eatre repr\u00e9sent\u00e9e, sur la sc\u00e8ne du village, par la famille de Bruscon. Intitul\u00e9e \u00abLa roue de l\u2019histoire\u00bb, nous pourrions y voir un simple <em>deux ex machina<\/em> ou un motif narratif permettant \u00e0 l\u2019intrigue de se tisser. Or, \u00e0 bien y r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir, dans ce d\u00e9tail r\u00e9side probablement une clef de lecture de la repr\u00e9sentation. Essayons donc de savoir de quel sujet traite \u00abla roue de l\u2019histoire\u00bb. Bruscon en souffle quelques mots \u00e0 l\u2019aubergiste en mentionnant les personnages de Staline, d\u2019Hitler, de Churchill et m\u00eame de Napol\u00e9on. A vrai dire, nous n\u2019en savons pas grand chose, si ce n\u2019est peut-\u00eatre que Ferruccio incarne mieux ses personnages lorsqu\u2019il a le bras cass\u00e9, et que celle-ci prend la forme d\u2019une gigantesque fresque polyphonique o\u00f9 la plupart des grands personnages historiques se rencontrent. Sous couvert d\u2019invisibilit\u00e9, cette \u00abroue de l\u2019histoire\u00bb symboliserait alors cette main invisible qui guide les hommes vers la trag\u00e9die.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paradoxalement, \u00e0 la fin de la repr\u00e9sentation, \u00abLa roue de l\u2019histoire\u00bb envahit la salle \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re d\u2019un symbole. Rappelons-le: alors que Bruscon et sa famille entrent en sc\u00e8ne, un incendie se d\u00e9clare au presbyt\u00e8re, laissant alors la salle se vider de son public. Le th\u00e9\u00e2tre, d\u00e9sert\u00e9, d\u00e9vast\u00e9 tel un champ de ruines apr\u00e8s la fuite des spectateurs, fend le c\u0153ur du pauvre Bruscon qui, de d\u00e9sespoir, de chagrin et de d\u00e9pit, s\u2019effondre et \u2013 probablement \u2013 meurt. Victime de son destin, le protagoniste finit broyer par cette roue qu\u2019il avait lui-m\u00eame mise en branle, \u00e9voquant ainsi le fait que les trag\u00e9dies se r\u00e9p\u00e8tent syst\u00e9matiquement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avec <em>Le faiseur de th\u00e9\u00e2tre<\/em>, Thomas Bernhard, \u00e0 travers une tirade de Bruscon, ce vieux grincheux, exprime son profond scepticisme \u2013 ou sa profonde lucidit\u00e9, \u00e0 vous d\u2019en juger \u2013 sur l\u2019art th\u00e9\u00e2tral en s\u2019exclamant que: \u00abL\u2019\u00e9crivain est mensonge, les interpr\u00e8tes sont mensonges et les spectateurs aussi sont mensonges et le tout rassembl\u00e9 est une absurdit\u00e9 unique sans m\u00eame parler du fait qu\u2019il s\u2019agit d\u2019une perversit\u00e9 qui a d\u00e9j\u00e0 des milliers d\u2019ann\u00e9es. Le th\u00e9\u00e2tre est une perversit\u00e9 plusieurs fois mill\u00e9naire dont l\u2019humanit\u00e9 raffole et elle en raffole si fort parce qu\u2019elle raffole si fort de son mensonge et nulle part ailleurs dans cette humanit\u00e9 le mensonge n\u2019est plus grand et plus fascinant qu\u2019au th\u00e9\u00e2tre.\u00bb Alors, chers lecteurs, peut-\u00eatre touchons-nous-l\u00e0 au c\u0153ur d\u2019une \u00e9nigme fascinante: pourquoi nous autres, humains, prenons-nous plaisir \u00e0 <em>aller voir du mensonge au th\u00e9\u00e2tre<\/em> et, qui plus est, \u00e0 faire partie de ce grand
