Raphi takes photos of tourists in front of the monument to sell them a souvenir. A precarious job in this age of selfies, but a pleasant one. One day, he comes across Miloni, a local girl. He offers her a photo. She poses, ravishing. She takes the picture and leaves without paying, more out of confusion in the crowd than any desire to steal. Raphi meets Miloni again, through an advertising poster on which she has also posed. The meeting between the two leads to an agreement. He no longer demands the money for the photo, but he needs a favor. She must pretend to be his girlfriend in the eyes of his grandmother, to please and honor her. Miloni agrees. What's not to do for a grandmother who wants her grandson to be happy? Parce qu\u2019en Inde, prononcer le nom de Noorie, c\u2019est comme dire Juliette chez nous; Juliette \u00e9voque directement la figure d\u2019une amoureuse \u2013 merci Shakespeare! Culture populaire due \u00e0 la plus grande romance du cin\u00e9ma indien: <em>Noorie<\/em> (1979), avec sa douce chanson <em>Aaja Re O Mere Dilbar<\/em>. Paisible titre \u00e0 l\u2019image du <em>Photographe<\/em> qui lui rend hommage au passage. Qui est tout aussi paisible que lent et m\u00e9ditatif. La r\u00e9alisation de Ritesh Batra mise sur un point essentiel: des plans de longue dur\u00e9e. Fixes, qui se concentrent sur les personnages, en l\u2019occurrence Raphi ou Miloni, qui pensent un peu \u00e0 tout, un peu \u00e0 rien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Aaja Re O Mere Dilbar Aaja   Noorie 1979   YouTube\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gQY6f1T5YO0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>En plus de la lenteur de leur rythme, les sc\u00e8nes jouent beaucoup avec le flou. Sans entrer dans des consid\u00e9rations trop techniques, on remarque simplement que de mani\u00e8re assez banale le flou dessin\u00e9 autour du personnage le met en \u00e9vidence. Et \u00e0 part \u00e7a, ces images sont tout bonnement belles \u00e0 regarder. Le film raconte l\u2019histoire d\u2019un photographe; le regard du r\u00e9alisateur est aussi celui d\u2019un photographe. Photographies d\u2019une Inde pleine de couleurs, de r\u00eaves, de pens\u00e9es, de soleil, du lent \u00e9coulement du Gange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">L\u2019Inde, la vraie<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Une Inde qui conna\u00eet tout aussi bien la pollution, la salet\u00e9. A Bombay, surtout. Pourtant, le film parvient \u00e0 nous montrer le contraste entre la gr\u00e2ce et la crasse dans une parfaite harmonie. Parce que c\u2019est \u00e7a l\u2019Inde. Des buildings, des temples; des drapeaux de pri\u00e8re volant au vent, des d\u00e9chets arpentant les rues; des tissus nobles aux couleurs du paradis, des jeans. On est en plein dans l\u2019ambiance de l\u2019Inde, la vraie. Avec ses chansons populaires, ses ballades en sitar, ses m\u00e9lodies \u00e9pic\u00e9es, ses effluves, ses travailleurs en sueur, ses march\u00e9s en d\u00e9sordre, ses b\u00e2timents d\u00e9labr\u00e9s, ses f\u00eates, sa joie, sa paix, ses injustices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/leregardlibre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Photograph_Filmstill-5_Copyright_Joe_dSouza-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30888\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Le Photographe<\/em> dresse un portrait de toutes ces caract\u00e9ristiques qui font l\u2019Inde. Dans le calme. Sans v\u00e9ritables p\u00e9rip\u00e9ties. A tel point que le film en devient par moments ennuyeux, et qu\u2019on a l\u2019impression qu\u2019il ne d\u00e9marre jamais. Mais ce n\u2019est pas trop grave, le charme nous rattrape. Charme d\u00fb \u00e9galement \u00e0 la raret\u00e9 d\u2019un tel sc\u00e9nario. Rien ne se passe, si c\u2019est qu\u2019un amour na\u00eet peu \u00e0 peu. Sans grandes d\u00e9clarations, sans sentiments explosifs. Raphi et Miloni, \u00e0 force de feindre, commencent \u00e0 se plaire vraiment. Sans g\u00e2cher une quelconque attente ou surprise, on sait que qu\u2019une telle relation n\u2019est pas possible. Un photographe de rue et une fille de bonne famille, \u00e7a n\u2019est pas fait pour s\u2019aimer; surtout pas en Inde. Raphi s\u2019en rend bien compte. Elle \u00e9pousera le mari que lui proposeront ses parents. Il restera un photographe sans histoires, sans Noorie.
