I might as well say it right away: <em>Birds of Prey<\/em> is poorly thought out, badly produced and unwelcome on our screens. And yet, it's not all doom and gloom. Starting with the lead actress, Margot Robbie, mistress of my most moving, breathless, torrid fantasies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Lire la critique-->\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/leregardlibre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Birds-of-Prey-And-the-Fantabulous-Emancipation-of-One-Harley-Quinn-Artwork-chf-FR_1Sht_BOP-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-31648\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La petite-amie du Joker<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais puisque c\u2019est avant tout une critique de film que j\u2019\u00e9cris, et non une critique de femme ou un portrait, il faut dire pourquoi la suite de <em>Suicide Squad<\/em>, d\u00e9j\u00e0 rat\u00e9, est \u00e0 pleurer, voire \u00e0 dormir. Quel ennui! Le sc\u00e9nario ne raconte rien. M\u00eame s\u2019il pr\u00e9tend nous plonger dans les aventures de Harley Quinn. De toute fa\u00e7on, l\u2019histoire du personnage de la DC, on la conna\u00eet. Petite-amie du Joker, le grand m\u00e9chant de Batman. Loin d\u2019\u00eatre \u00e0 la base aussi d\u00e9jant\u00e9e que son compagnon, elle fait sa connaissance dans un rapport entre th\u00e9rapeute et patient. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Psychiatre, elle se laisse s\u00e9duire par le Joker, qui l\u2019entra\u00eene dans la m\u00eame substance chimique dans laquelle il \u00e9tait tomb\u00e9 jadis. P\u00e2le et folle, elle partage la vie criminelle du clown. Puis il y a la rupture \u2013 un couple du genre, \u00e7a promet! Elle continue ses activit\u00e9s en solo. Mais quand ses ennemis apprennent qu\u2019elle n\u2019est plus sous la protection du Joker, un d\u00e9sir de vengeance les envahit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pas trop de souci \u00e0 se faire pour elle: elle cogne autant qu\u2019elle rit. Et elle rit beaucoup. Il y a de quoi, quand on sort avec un mec qui porte un costume violet, sur un teint blanc comme neige, sans oublier les cheveux verts pour apporter un peu de bonne humeur. De malfrat, elle se fait protectrice. Une jeune fille est menac\u00e9e par les plus tordus de Gotham. Plusieurs femmes s\u2019unissent \u00e0 Harley Quinn pour prot\u00e9ger la jeune fille. Elles s\u2019unissent contre les salauds. En minorit\u00e9, ces dr\u00f4les de dames ne se laissent pas faire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Birds of Prey - Bande Annonce Officielle 2 (VOST) - Margot Robbie\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9Zd24yOqqNU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Toujours dans la platitude<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On s\u2019attend \u00e0 du mouvement, de l\u2019aventure. Il y en a, mais toujours dans la platitude. L\u2019h\u00e9ro\u00efne se bat, elle d\u00e9joue tous les pi\u00e8ges. Mais toujours de fa\u00e7on m\u00e9canique. A chaque obstacle, le spectateur s\u2019imagine d\u00e9j\u00e0 en baillant la r\u00e9solution. Et quand on veut vraiment nous \u00e9tonner, tout tourne au ridicule. Comme par exemple lorsque qu\u2019Harley Quinn se d\u00e9m\u00e8ne envers et contre tout pour sauver son mythique burger. Les \u00e9ventuelles sensations et la tant attendue passion finissent par pouffer. Tout \u00e7a pour quoi? Pour pr\u00e9server un mis\u00e9rable sandwich. On ne peut adh\u00e9rer; on ne peut pas \u00eatre emport\u00e9 dans la danse. Ce n\u2019est pas qu\u2019une question de sandwich, mais toute qu\u00eate est simplement inint\u00e9ressante. En somme, on se fiche compl\u00e8tement de ce qui se passe \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aussi parce que les personnages n\u2019ont aucune psychologie. Aucune des femmes qui se bat avec Harley Quinn ne laisse transpara\u00eetre un brin de son histoire, de ses motivations profondes, de son malaise. Leur construction se limite \u00e0 un superficiel qui nous bloque compl\u00e8tement. Non, on n\u2019arrive pas \u00e0 s\u2019attacher \u00e0 ces femmes; ni \u00e0 leurs ennemis, tout aussi superficiels. Pas de vraie souffrance, pas de vraie vengeance, pas de vraie recherche, juste des courses-poursuites, des coups de poing \u00e0 droite, \u00e0 gauche. Ce n\u2019est pas la faute de la trame, qui aurait tr\u00e8s bien pu dessiner ses protagonistes plus en profondeur. La faute est au sc\u00e9nario qui a r\u00e9dig\u00e9 les dialogues d\u2019un film sur commande. Un divertissement pour encaisser du fric, qui ne divertit d\u2019ailleurs pas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/leregardlibre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Birds-of-Prey-And-the-Fantabulous-Emancipation-of-One-Harley-Quinn-Szenen-ov-rev-1-BOP-10640rv2_High_Res_JPEG-1.jpeg\" class=\"wp-image-31650\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Du carton-p\u00e2te qui veut faire comme si<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>La voix off ne sauve pas l\u2019affaire. Harley Quinn parle en narratrice pour raconter les faits et son histoire. Mais en voulant trop en dire, elle ne dit plus rien. La narration est un amas d\u2019informations inutiles qui n\u2019aident pas \u00e0 appr\u00e9cier l\u2019action mise en sc\u00e8ne \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran. Comme les \u00e9l\u00e9ments narr\u00e9s ne contribuent pas \u00e0 mieux conna\u00eetre le personnage principal. Elle nous dicte son autobiographie sans conviction, sans y croire, mais comme un texte \u00e0 r\u00e9citer parce qu\u2019il faut l\u2019int\u00e9grer dans le film. Malgr\u00e9 tout, on r\u00e9ussit quand m\u00eame \u00e0 pressentir quelques d\u00e9ceptions et quelques tristesses de la narratrice. \u00a0\u00c7a reste peu de choses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le d\u00e9cor, quant \u00e0 lui, devrait nous plonger dans la fantaisie, dans un cadre loufoque, \u00e0 l\u2019image des personnages qui l\u2019habitent. Cathy Yan a bien senti qu\u2019elle devait se diriger dans ce sens pour envelopper sa r\u00e9alisation d\u2019une dimension qui ressemble \u00e0 Harley Quinn. Son travail demeure cependant b\u00e2cl\u00e9. Elle se contente d\u2019introduire quelques lumi\u00e8res dans une bo\u00eete de nuit pour essayer un tant soit peu de nous plonger dans la vie <em>Gotham by night<\/em>, mais sans plus. Le reste du d\u00e9cor, des rues aux int\u00e9rieurs, ressemblent \u00e0 du carton-p\u00e2te qui veut faire comme si on plongeait dans le burlesque et le merveilleux. En effet. Film pauvre, triste et sans saveur. Ou presque, ai-je dit aussi. Margot Robbie, oui, elle. Qui m\u00e9ritent de bien meilleurs r\u00f4les. Qui reste pourtant toujours sublime. M\u00eame avec des cheveux d\u00e9gueulasses, une tenue d\u2019arlequin et un air de zombie. Elle habite toujours son r\u00f4le. En Harley Quinn, elle donne tout, elle s\u2019\u00e9clate. Elle p\u00e9tille. Elle r\u00e9ussit par sa pr\u00e9sence \u00e0 donner un peu de charme au film; elle lui donne un semblant d\u2019\u00e2me. Parce qu\u2019aussi excellente soit-elle, impossible de r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer un long-m\u00e9trage de si mauvais go\u00fbt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au moins, elle se sauve elle-m\u00eame. Esp\u00e9rons vers de meilleurs films. De toute fa\u00e7on, son regard, sa voix et sa pr\u00e9sence corporelle subliment tout. Margot Robbie est une star au sens propre. Une \u00e9toile. Qui brille dans le ciel. Qui brille dans chaque film, chaque sc\u00e8ne, m\u00eame la plus vaine. Qui brille face \u00e0 moi. Avec ses imperfections, ses angoisses, sa sensualit\u00e9, son visage, son corps, tout son \u00eatre. Malgr\u00e9 <em>Birds of Prey<\/em>, je te suis fid\u00e8le, Margot. Margot, nous t\u2019aimons.
