In <em>The Sons of Man<\/em>, He depicts a world doomed to perdition, due to the inability of the human species to reproduce.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Lire la r\u00e9trospective-->\n\n\n\n<p>Notre cin\u00e9aste hispanique aurait-il lu le roman de Margaret Atwood <em>The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em> avant le succ\u00e8s ph\u00e9nom\u00e9nal de son adaptation en s\u00e9rie? Dans tous les cas, la comparaison est in\u00e9vitable: dans un futur proche ab\u00eem\u00e9 par les guerres, l\u2019\u00eatre humain le plus juv\u00e9nile de la terre \u00abB\u00e9b\u00e9 Di\u00e9go\u00bb vient d\u2019\u00eatre assassin\u00e9 \u00e0 tout juste 18 ans apr\u00e8s avoir refus\u00e9 de signer un autographe \u00e0 un inconnu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019Angleterre, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e comme dernier bastion de la civilisation, exerce une politique particuli\u00e8rement r\u00e9pressive face \u00e0 l\u2019arriv\u00e9e massive d\u2019immigr\u00e9s. Theo Faron, employ\u00e9 de bureau \u00e0 la vie paisible, se retrouve charg\u00e9 d\u2019une mission de la plus haute importance \u00e0 ses d\u00e9pens: conduire une clandestine du nom de Kee aupr\u00e8s d\u2019une organisation pr\u00eate \u00e0 refonder l\u2019humanit\u00e9 aux A\u00e7ores. Particularit\u00e9 non n\u00e9gligeable: miraculeusement, elle est la premi\u00e8re femme au monde enceinte depuis pr\u00e8s de vingt ans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Un microcosme politique complexe<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Bien que la disparition de la fertilit\u00e9 soit pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e comme l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement fondateur qui conduit \u00e0&nbsp; l\u2019\u00e9mergence de&nbsp; de la R\u00e9publique de Gilead chez Atwood, Cuar\u00f3n ne s\u2019est pas inspir\u00e9 de ce monde dystopique puisque <em>The Sons of Man<\/em> est \u00e9galement une adaptation tir\u00e9e d\u2019un roman. La complexit\u00e9 apparente de l\u2019univers et de ces structures en place est peut-\u00eatre la manifestation de ce tissage romanesque complexe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>V\u00e9ritable Constantinople des temps modernes, le gouvernement anglo-saxon a fond\u00e9 la bien nomm\u00e9e \u00abArche des arts\u00bb o\u00f9 toutes les \u0153uvres mondiales rescap\u00e9es sont conserv\u00e9es et inaccessibles pour les habitants de la capitale. Loin de pouvoir exercer son pouvoir proche du totalitarisme sans repr\u00e9sailles, le gouvernement fait face \u00e0 deux grandes forces d\u2019opposition. D\u2019un c\u00f4t\u00e9 l\u2019organisation \u00abPoisson\u00bb consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme des terroristes et figurant une sorte d\u2019ONG arm\u00e9e luttant pour la d\u00e9fense des immigr\u00e9s. Etendard de la r\u00e9volution pour l\u2019un, nouvelle \u00e9g\u00e9rie aux origines probl\u00e9matiques pour l\u2019autre. Kee est une relique que Theo doit prot\u00e9ger d\u2019une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 qui, au fil des \u00e9pid\u00e9mies et des guerres, est devenue bancale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Miroir du monde, l\u2019usage de la projection d\u2019un futur noir et d\u00e9cadent pr\u00e9sente un monde dystopique. Le film regorge de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 l\u2019Histoire pour composer son univers morbide. Le sud du Royaume-Uni \u00e9tant r\u00e9quisitionn\u00e9 pour parquer les r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s dans les camps, ces derniers se constituent des structures et d\u2019une organisation faisant r\u00e9f\u00e9rence aux camps de concentration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Les fils de l&#039;homme, Alfonso Cuaron, 2006. Extrait\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TX8OmzKnIaA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019arriv\u00e9e au sein de Bexhill en est un exemple: en pleine nuit, des bus aux fen\u00eatres grillag\u00e9es passent un check-point prot\u00e9g\u00e9 par des tourelles et cl\u00f4tur\u00e9es par des murs garnis de fils barbel\u00e9s. Une fois l\u2019enceinte franchie, le v\u00e9hicule s\u2019arr\u00eate pour d\u00e9poser les clandestins qui seront ex\u00e9cut\u00e9s avant de s\u2019arr\u00eater une nouvelle fois afin de parquer les derniers arrivants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au sein du camp, une petite ville, jonch\u00e9e de d\u00e9pris et d\u2019\u00e9choppes improvis\u00e9es prolif\u00e8re. Dans le centre de Londres, il faut aussi compter sur la pr\u00e9sence des groupuscules islamistes comme s\u2019opposant \u00e0 la fermeture des mosqu\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Au-del\u00e0 du riche environnement fictionnel qu\u2019il d\u00e9veloppe autour des forces politiques en action, Cuar\u00f3n propose aussi de magnifiques images, notamment le plan-s\u00e9quence dans le camp assi\u00e9g\u00e9 par les forces britanniques: une immersion particuli\u00e8rement efficace et agr\u00e9able pour la r\u00e9tine. <em>The Sons of Man<\/em>, par le foisonnement de son univers, offre un film d\u2019anticipation plaisant ainsi qu\u2019un regard noir \u2013 quoique lib\u00e9rateur \u2013 sur un devenir possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Write to the author:&nbsp;<a
