That's the almost perfect definition of a <em>road movie<\/em> as we love them. An ode to freedom, <em>The Peanut Butter Falcon<\/em> probably won't go down in cinema history, but it has what it takes to earn a place in people's hearts.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Lire la critique-->\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Individu et soci\u00e9t\u00e9<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Zak (Zachary Gottsagen) n\u2019a qu\u2019un souhait: devenir catcheur professionnel. De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, Tyler (Shia Laboeuf) peine \u00e0 retrouver une vie stable suite au choc provoqu\u00e9 par la mort de son fr\u00e8re. Alors que ce dernier cherche \u00e0 fuir les ennuis, il trouve, cach\u00e9 sur son bateau, un jeune homme en culotte. Zak, sans famille et atteint du syndrome de Down, a lui aussi d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de quitter l\u2019institution dans laquelle il est intern\u00e9 pour rejoindre l\u2019\u00e9cole de catch dirig\u00e9e par son h\u00e9ros, Saltwater Redneck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En compagnons de fortune, ils voguent \u00e0 travers les sublimes paysages des Outer Banks et traversent les bayous enchanteurs de la Caroline du Nord. Au fil des p\u00e9rip\u00e9ties auxquelles s\u2019est jointe Eleanor (Dakota Johnson), la r\u00e9f\u00e9rente de Zak, un lien se cr\u00e9e, chacun apportant \u00e0 l\u2019autre ce dont il avait justement besoin. Un but, une attache et des responsabilit\u00e9s pour Tyler. La confiance en soi, le go\u00fbt de vivre et la libert\u00e9 pour Zak: la possibilit\u00e9 de mener une vie \u00abnormale\u00bb, en somme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But <em>The Peanut Butter Falcon<\/em> n\u2019est pas seulement le r\u00e9cit du voyage initiatique de deux individus en marge de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9, c\u2019est aussi une atmosph\u00e8re. Tyler Nilson et Mike Schwartz, les r\u00e9alisateurs, nous plongent au c\u0153ur de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique profonde, pauvre. Celle des laiss\u00e9s pour compte et des oubli\u00e9s du syst\u00e8me qui, certes peinent \u00e0 survivre, mais ont soif de vivre. Les images sont belles, les personnages improbablement vrais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"THE PEANUT BUTTER FALCON Bande Annonce VF (2020) Dakota Johnson, Shia LaBeouf\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BBnXgC2sCLw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Des h\u00e9ros picaresques<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Si l\u2019histoire comporte des airs de d\u00e9j\u00e0-vu, le sc\u00e9nario touche, sans jamais tomber dans le m\u00e9lodrame ou la caricature, par la tournure impr\u00e9vue et dr\u00f4le de certaines sc\u00e8nes. Pas question d\u2019apitoyer le spectateur sur le sort des protagonistes en insistant sur leur lourd v\u00e9cu ou leur handicap, ils nous sont donn\u00e9s \u00e0 voir comme ils se voient: deux jeunes hommes en qu\u00eate de libert\u00e9. Des losers, oui. Mais de ceux qui font sourire, la larme \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153il.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read also: <a href=\"https:\/\/leregardlibre.com\/en\/cinema\/un-ami-extraordinaire-de-la-guimauve-assumee\/\"><em>An extraordinary friend<\/em>: de la guimauve assum\u00e9e<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En quittant la route pour le fleuve, c\u2019est comme si on se d\u00e9lestait du poids de la critique sociale souvent associ\u00e9e au genre du <em>road movie<\/em> dont la fin, synonyme de l\u2019\u00e9chec de l\u2019individu, est d\u2019ailleurs g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement pessimiste. On gagne ainsi en l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9, en authenticit\u00e9. <em>The peanut butter falcon<\/em> serait donc ce qu\u2019on appelle (je le d\u00e9couvre aussi) un <em>feel good movie<\/em>, un peu \u00e0 l\u2019image de <em>Little miss sunshine<\/em> (2006) ou de <em>Captain Fantastic<\/em> (2016). Une bouff\u00e9e d\u2019air frais, une parenth\u00e8se de bonnes ondes.
