Watching the changing color of the sky, the sun flooding Damascus one afternoon. Signing books in Vevey with Chappaz, Corinna Bille and Georges Borgeaud. Load up two cows and three calves for butchery and shake the butcher's firm hand. Promising, desperately promising newspaper articles. Shitting under an olive tree in the southern Peloponnese. Measuring time by putting logs on the fire. Tucking your head into your shoulders and feeling the rain on your forehead. In other words, to pass and only pass on this Earth, scratching on the paper of a diary the weft of our comings and goings, the narration of our wanderings, the segment of our trajectories, the tale of our secret attractions and that of our disgusts - this is what this special issue of the magazine <em>Literary Moments<\/em>, which highlights moments in the lives of Swiss diarists over more than three centuries, from Henri-Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Amiel to Douna Loup.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Lire la chronique-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">R\u00e9cemment, un \u00e9diteur m\u2019a dit que cinq pour cent des lecteurs lisaient la pr\u00e9face d\u2019un livre. Pour \u00eatre \u00e0 contre-courant, parlons de la pr\u00e9face avant de plonger t\u00eate la premi\u00e8re dans la vie des autres. D\u2019embl\u00e9e, le lecteur qui ouvrira ce livre sera inform\u00e9 par Jean Fran\u00e7ois Duval du processus \u00e9ditorial de ce num\u00e9ro. Ce qui est tr\u00e8s utile, et payant, pour tous les curieux qui veulent conna\u00eetre l\u2019\u00e9laboration d\u2019un tel chantier, les motivations \u00e0 l\u2019origine du projet ainsi que les doutes rencontr\u00e9s en chemin. De la sempiternelle question qui hante encore d\u2019irr\u00e9ductibles gaulois du milieu du livre suisse: \u00abQu\u2019est-ce qu\u2019une litt\u00e9rature romande \u00e0 l\u2019heure o\u00f9 la jeune litt\u00e9rature romande est de plus en plus \u201cm\u00e9tiss\u00e9e et polyphonique\u201d?\u00bb \u00e0 la d\u00e9nomination du journal intime lui-m\u00eame: \u00abFaut-il l&rsquo;appeler journal? Feuillets? Notes?\u00bb Une question cardinale sort du lot de cette aventure: \u00abQu\u2019est-ce qui rel\u00e8ve r\u00e9ellement de l\u2019intime?\u00bb Et pour tenter d\u2019aller plus loin, on pourrait se demander qui se cache derri\u00e8re les courbes de telle ou telle plume. Ou ce qu\u2019il est important de narrer, en tant que diariste, de la course folle de nos atomes. A quelle fr\u00e9quence s\u2019\u00e9vertuer, le soir ou le matin, \u00e0 noircir un cahier pour y fixer le temps qu\u2019il fait, une rencontre, ou allez savoir, l\u2019accident du jour?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you've thrown these questions on the fire, you'll have the opportunity to dive headfirst into several intimacies. In Henri-Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Amiel's immense diary, in Monique Saint-H\u00e9lier's emotional journal, in Ren\u00e9 Groebli's loving photo diary or in Corinne Desarzens' whirlwind journal. And what's so charming, along with the intimate, is the gaze. The way these diarists look at their times and the hazards that run through them. Like the diurnal movements of the sky. Like that storm on Sunday September 12, 1869, in Charnex:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u00ab(Five minutes later.) Complete invasion, only one corner remains clear, the entrance to the Valais... Here it is extinguished. The limits of heaven and earth have disappeared. I can believe I'm in a balloon. Yet the rain is soft and soulful. The threat was more terrible than the blow. Even the storm retains a kind of musical suavity and paternal benignity. The lion's paw is velvety. Perhaps this gentleness is the character of autumn? September no longer has the fury of July. Age attenuates, tempers, softens the rages of another season. The elements also seem to become more self-controlled and suppress their savage outbursts.\u00bb<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Plusieurs diaristes r\u00e9unis, c\u2019est forc\u00e9ment une bouquet de voix, de personnalit\u00e9s, d\u2019\u00e9go et d\u2019impressions. Chacun a sa perception des choses humaines. Il y aura donc fatalement des journaux qui plairont, d\u2019autres qui rebuteront, d\u2019autres qui r\u00e9veillent. Si certains s&rsquo;inscrivent dans une histoire litt\u00e9raire commune, partag\u00e9e comme le pain, c\u2019est le cas du po\u00e8te Alexandre Voisard qui doit r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 Alain Bosquet lui posant la question de d\u00e9finir (en moins de dix mots) sa po\u00e9sie. Si certains partent de l\u2019individu pour aller au-del\u00e0, le franchir, le d\u00e9passer pour finalement rejoindre une m\u00e9canique d\u2019ensemble, universelle et quasi astrale, en parlant des autres, du temps qu\u2019il fait, de la d\u00e9couverte d\u2019un nouveau livre, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If some naturally blacken the paper to invent, to write a piece of narrative in a corner, to compose a poem to fix an episode of the day or better, to speak of the reality of existing, as is the case with this poem by J\u00e9r\u00f4me Meizoz at the end of the review, others, on the contrary, turn in circles and only follow the centrifugal movement of their own acceleration, constantly returning to themselves, this only point of departure and arrival, without ever reaching anyone. Still others tell their own stories, tell them a little, and make a few confessions, as is the case with the <em>Dolce Vita<\/em> by Roland Jaccard, who talks about his work, lost flower girls, his neuralgia, his writing - in short, his daily life in the eighties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Read also: <a href=\"https:\/\/leregardlibre.com\/en\/literature\/roland-jaccard-a-provocateur-among-the-naysayers\/\">Roland Jaccard, provocateur among the piss-cold<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To each his own newspaper. To each his own voice and style. For the diarists featured in this issue undeniably have a literary verve, a known and recognized quality of writing that makes this special issue a bedside book from which to pick and choose, at random, such an attentive and singular look at the passing days. And for those who, after all these varied diaries, after all these introspections, want to read something else and no longer expect anything from the intimate, there's still Michel Tournier and his <em>Diary<\/em>, \u00e0 lire sans mod\u00e9ration, pleinement tourn\u00e9 vers l&rsquo;ext\u00e9rieur au moyen d\u2019une \u00e9criture du dehors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote
