Sans artifice, ils parviennent \u00e0 saisir avec un angoissant effet de r\u00e9alisme la d\u00e9liquescence psychologique des gens ordinaires. D\u00e9lire camusien ou r\u00e9flexion tragique sur notre \u00e9poque? Qu\u2019importe, car derri\u00e8re les apparences se trouve souvent la folie banale, que l\u2019on travestit par de faux-semblants. Sous leur regard incisif, les r\u00e9alisateurs les d\u00e9masquent sans piti\u00e9 pour nous laisser en t\u00eate-\u00e0-t\u00eate avec une inhumanit\u00e9 impr\u00e9visible. Criant de <strong>\u00ab<\/strong>r\u00e9alisme<strong>\u00bb<\/strong>, le film s\u2019inscrit dans la lign\u00e9e de Michael Haneke, notamment gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce g\u00e9nie qui parvient \u00e0 th\u00e9matiser l\u2019horreur sans prendre position.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Un sentiment d\u2019absurde<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Plonger \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur d\u2019un journal intime, c\u2019est ce que nous proposent les fr\u00e8res D&#8217;Innocenzo. Sous nos yeux impudiques, la voix-over appartenant \u00e0 l\u2019un des enfants d\u00e9voile le destin de famille d\u2019une banlieue pavillonnaire non loin de Rome. Nous entrons dans leurs jardins, leurs salons, leurs chambres. Leur vie ne semble manquer de rien: des enfants, un travail; ils ne sont ni pauvres, ni riches. Tr\u00e8s vite, un malaise s\u2019installe et perdure jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la fin du film. Plus nous nous infiltrons dans leur intimit\u00e9, plus l\u2019angoisse monte. Derri\u00e8re le barbecue, le carr\u00e9 d\u2019herbe et la baie vitr\u00e9e se cache en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 une profonde souffrance d\u00e9voil\u00e9e \u00e0 mesure que les valeurs de plan diminuent. En effet, les gros plans sur les visages et les parties du corps d\u00e9p\u00e8cent le d\u00e9cor pour le rendre brut, cru et parfois sale, poussi\u00e8re indomptable qui refuse de se mettre sous le tapis des faux-semblants d\u2019entre voisins.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La force de l\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 que parvient \u00e0 faire monter d\u2019une main de ma\u00eetre les deux r\u00e9alisateurs r\u00e9side principalement dans le r\u00f4le que les personnages ne jouent pas. Voil\u00e0 l\u2019affaire: leur attitude semble toujours nous prendre au d\u00e9pourvu et ils ne jouent pas en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 le r\u00f4le pour lequel on les a assign\u00e9s. Sous le soleil ali\u00e9nant et envo\u00fbtant de la banlieue italienne, la d\u00e9limitation entre le r\u00f4le des parents et celui des enfants est floue. A cause des frustrations accumul\u00e9es par les limites de leur condition sociale, les adultes se sont enferm\u00e9s dans le caract\u00e8re machinal de leur existence. Indiff\u00e9rence \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard des enfants, violence, jalousie sont les cons\u00e9quences de cette insatisfaction existentielle. Des exemples? Cette jeune m\u00e8re qui d\u00e9cide de garder son nouveau-n\u00e9 dans une couveuse le temps que l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 se termine ou ce p\u00e8re qui d\u00e9sire sans arr\u00eat reprendre sa vie \u00e0 z\u00e9ro sans se rendre compte que la finalit\u00e9 est toujours similaire. Ces parents fuyant leurs responsabilit\u00e9s font ressortir un sentiment d\u2019absurde o\u00f9 les protagonistes ne se conforment pas aux attentes banales que supposerait leur r\u00f4le. S\u2019ajoute \u00e0 cela une mise en sc\u00e8ne sans fioriture, qui ne prend pas le parti d\u2019embellir, ni d\u2019enlaidir \u00e0 outrance, \u00e9vitant ainsi le pi\u00e8ge d\u2019une trag\u00e9die d\u00e9goulinante de <em>pathos<\/em>. La cam\u00e9ra, au contraire, est l\u00e0 pour montrer sans d\u00e9noncer. Elle filme le d\u00e9roulement syst\u00e9matique d\u2019une condamnation pr\u00e9natale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>L\u2019autodestruction comme seule \u00e9chappatoire<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Sur le prononc\u00e9 de ce verdict, les enfants sont peut-\u00eatre plus lucides que les parents. Cet exc\u00e8s de lucidit\u00e9 des enfants \u00e9claire l\u2019unique porte de sortie qu\u2019ils poss\u00e8dent pour ne pas sombrer \u00e0 leur tour dans le m\u00eame spectacle grotesque de l\u2019existence moyenne: le suicide. Ce geste d\u00e9sesp\u00e9r\u00e9 symbolise aussi une forme de r\u00e9volte, un refus cat\u00e9goriel de vivre. Aux yeux des parents, c\u2019est une mise en forme tangible de leurs propres \u00e9checs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si, pour Camus, le suicide n\u2019est pas un acte salvateur face \u00e0 la prise de conscience du non-sens de l\u2019existence, ici, il semble paradoxalement vital. La solution camusienne \u2013 celle d\u2019embrasser l\u2019absurdit\u00e9 de son existence et vivre une vie <em>sans<\/em> espoir \u2013 n\u2019est m\u00eame pas envisag\u00e9e. Caligula disait: \u00abll est indiff\u00e9rent de dormir ou de rester \u00e9veill\u00e9, si je n&#8217;ai pas d&#8217;action sur l&#8217;ordre de ce monde\u00bb. Les enfants, dignes h\u00e9ritiers de la figure caligulesque, ont fait le choix de renoncer \u00e0 vivre. Pourquoi monte-elle inexorablement durant le film alors qu\u2019il ne compte jamais sur les artifices classiques d\u2019un film \u00e0 suspense? Il n\u2019y aucune bande-son caract\u00e9ristique, ni sc\u00e8nes sanguinolentes. La brutalit\u00e9 du p\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard de son fils se trouve en hors-champ. La violence n\u2019est pas exploit\u00e9e. Son r\u00f4le est sous-jacent, car elle n\u2019est jamais montr\u00e9e. Elle n\u2019est pas l\u00e0 o\u00f9 elle devrait \u00eatre au m\u00eame titre que les parents et les enfants n\u2019agissent pas comme ils devraient agir. En somme, l\u2019horreur ne se trouve pas l\u00e0 o\u00f9 elle est attendue, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur, ou \u00e0 la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision, mais bien \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur des maisons, dans les chambres \u00e0 coucher, dans l\u2019intimit\u00e9 profonde. L\u2019horreur, c\u2019est le fruit de la conception des adultes et ce sont les enfants qui la cristallisent. L\u2019horreur se trouve dans le journal intime. La poussi\u00e8re cach\u00e9e sous le tapis utilise les moyens mis \u00e0 sa disposition pour se mat\u00e9rialiser.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Favolacce<\/em> bouleverse. Mais si l\u2019on pousse notre r\u00e9flexion, ce geste de d\u00e9sespoir final n\u2019est-il pas en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 la r\u00e9ponse la plus juste? Loin de sombrer dans un nihilisme contemporain duquel on se mettrait \u00e0 dos le monde entier, ce geste symbolise une qu\u00eate impossible: celle de retrouver, un jour peut-\u00eatre, un peu
