The \u00abdaring\u00bb theme and prolific cast of their new comedy are not enough to arouse the viewer's curiosity. This catalog of sexual fantasies, which skims the surface of its subject, resembles a supermarket prospectus: a choice of promotions without an ounce of freedom.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Lire la suite de la critique (en libre acc\u00e8s)-->\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Les Fantasmes - Bande-annonce\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ofs5sEnu2tU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Les Fantasmes<\/em> expose six histoires ind\u00e9pendantes. Chacune d\u2019elle met en sc\u00e8ne un couple \u2013 bourgeois ou en devenir \u2013 dont les pratiques sexuelles sont soudainement bouscul\u00e9es. Rompre avec la monotonie du co\u00eft, un besoin \u00e9go\u00efste ou une pulsion de l\u2019un des conjoints est \u00e0 l\u2019origine d\u2019un d\u00e9sastre annonc\u00e9. Pas de continuit\u00e9 narrative pour ce film compos\u00e9 de sketchs d\u2019une vingtaine de minutes. Tous exposent aux yeux du spectateur les probl\u00e9matiques qu\u2019engendre l\u2019excitation d\u2019une situation particuli\u00e8re en miroir de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 qui la consid\u00e8re comme taboue et d\u00e9viante. Ces fantasmes sont authentifi\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran par une surimpression: la dacryphilie \u00ab\u00eatre excit\u00e9 par les larmes\u00bb, la sorophilie \u00abd\u00e9sirer la s\u0153ur de son conjoint\u00bb, la thanatophilie \u00abl\u2019attirance pour la mort\u00bb, etc\u2026 Si la d\u00e9signation renforce le caract\u00e8re curieux et \u00e9trange de ces stimulants du d\u00e9sir, elle est aussi paradoxale pour le spectateur. M\u00eame frustrante; ces termes d\u00e9signent une r\u00e9alit\u00e9 qui ne sera malheureusement jamais approfondie \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ce qui compte, c\u2019est la chute<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>St\u00e9phane et David Foenkinos se donnent en effet l\u2019air d\u2019aborder un sujet qui aurait pu \u00eatre int\u00e9ressant, et qui n\u2019est pas sans pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent. On pense \u00e0 Michael Fassbender sous les traits d\u2019un accro au sexe dans <em>Shame<\/em> (2011). Plus r\u00e9cemment et dans le m\u00eame genre que notre com\u00e9die fran\u00e7aise, la s\u00e9rie <em>Sex Education<\/em> dont la troisi\u00e8me saison s\u2019appr\u00eate \u00e0 \u00eatre diffus\u00e9e sur Netflix a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 qu\u2019il \u00e9tait possible d\u2019\u00e9voquer le sujet avec finesse et sans compromis. Une prise de distance qui semble manquer \u00e0 notre duo de r\u00e9alisateurs. <em>Les Fantasmes<\/em> se contente de tourner autour du pot sans jamais prendre \u00e0 bras le corps son sujet. Le corps-\u00e0-corps est maladroit, puritain. On l\u2019explique par la difficult\u00e9 pour le spectateur d\u2019adh\u00e9rer au film: une absence cruelle du sens du dialogue \u2013 Monica Bellucci termine toutes ses phrases par un mot en italien \u2013 et par un jeu d\u2019acteur non cr\u00e9dible avec une mention sp\u00e9ciale pour Ramzy Bedia et Nicolas Bedos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais il serait trop \u00e9vident de d\u00e9signer ces \u00e9l\u00e9ments comme seuls responsables de l\u2019\u00e9chec du film. Le vrai probl\u00e8me r\u00e9side dans le fait que le c\u0153ur du sujet est noy\u00e9 dans la structure moralisatrice des six fables. Tous ces sketchs finissent par une chute qui <em>must<\/em> \u00eatre comique. En vrac : le coup de l\u2019arroseur arros\u00e9, la crise existentielle, le transfert du fantasme en sadisme\u2026&nbsp; Ainsi, ce qui aurait pu \u00eatre un propos dr\u00f4le et touchant est enti\u00e8rement consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 s\u2019\u00e9teindre dans cette perspective: la fin justifie les moyens, aux d\u00e9pens de la forme. Dommage, car ces mises en r\u00e9cit du quotidien permettaient un traitement multiple et une grande libert\u00e9 du sujet. Il est ruin\u00e9 par une \u00e9nergie improprement employ\u00e9e. Tout d\u2019abord, il est camp\u00e9 par Jean-Paul Rouve et surtout Karine Viard, actrice d\u00e9j\u00e0 pr\u00e9sente dans <em>Jealous<\/em>, la com\u00e9die pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente des deux frangins. La comparaison ne s\u2019arr\u00eate pas l\u00e0 puisqu\u2019elle joue \u00e9galement le r\u00f4le d\u2019une enseignante. Cette derni\u00e8re fen\u00eatre sur la sexualit\u00e9 est aussi diff\u00e9rente par rapport aux pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes. Elle est une mise en ab\u00eeme du fantasme. Le couple est en effet habitu\u00e9 \u00e0 se filmer pendant ses \u00e9bats. Malencontreusement \u2013 ou inconsciemment \u2013 le mari glisse en pi\u00e8ce-jointe d\u2019un courriel une partie de jambes en l\u2019air\u2026 La vid\u00e9o devient virale. Honte sociale, droit de contr\u00f4le de l\u2019image, tension entre pratique incongrue et emploi de fonctionnaire\u2026 Toutes ces th\u00e9matiques qu\u2019auraient pu soulever cet incident sont ruin\u00e9es par une pirouette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Viard, apr\u00e8s plusieurs r\u00e9flexions, s\u2019accommode de son nouveau statut. Alors qu\u2019elle est effondr\u00e9e, la voil\u00e0 tout \u00e0 coup prise d\u2019un regain d\u2019assurance gr\u00e2ce aux commentaires dont la vid\u00e9o fait l\u2019objet. Les \u00abt\u2019es bonne\u00bb et \u00abMILF\u00bb la poussent \u00e0 changer de vie, pour devenir une star du porno. Morale de l\u2019histoire: peu importe ce que les gens pensent, il faut vivre ses fantasmes aux yeux de tous. Or, ce fantasme n\u2019a jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 le sien, mais celui de son mari. L\u2019\u00e9cart entre r\u00e9aliser des vid\u00e9os dans la sph\u00e8re intime et r\u00e9aliser des s\u00e9quences professionnelles destin\u00e9es aux yeux de tous les curieux est abyssal. Cette transition signe \u00e9galement la mort de l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat du d\u00e9sir cach\u00e9, cultiv\u00e9 dans l\u2019ombre. R\u00e9alis\u00e9 sur la sc\u00e8ne publique, le fantasme n\u2019en est plus un.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Que peut-on d\u00e9sormais esp\u00e9rer des Foenkinos? Pour parler le langage politiquement correct et pudique de leur long-m\u00e9trage, peu de choses. Sinon que leur d\u00e9sir de cin\u00e9ma se contente de s\u2019\u00e9panouir dans la sph\u00e8re priv\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Write to the author: <a
