The right has made it its favorite subject, and the left has responded with varying degrees of skill. The results.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Lire l\u2019article (abonn\u00e9s)-->\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"eric-zemmour-est-le-plus-radical-sur-la-question\">Eric Zemmour is the most radical on this issue.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>According to him, immigration \u00abexacerbates all of France\u2019s problems.\u00bb It is the driving force behind a \u00abclash of civilizations,\u00bb which involves, in particular, a \u00abgreat replacement\u00bb of the population. He claims that this phenomenon is caused by an excessively large number of new arrivals, making it impossible for them to assimilate into French culture and customs. The political newcomer therefore wants to \u00abreduce immigration to zero\u00bb by holding a referendum on the issue as soon as he is elected, which will include all of his proposals, such as the elimination of family reunification and birthright citizenship, drastic restrictions on the right to asylum, and the deportation of all undocumented immigrants and foreign criminals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read also | <a href=\"https:\/\/leregardlibre.com\/en\/policy\/zemmour-as-a-candidate-good-news-for-everyone\/#more-43881\">Zemmour as a candidate: good news for everyone<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"marine-le-pen-en-ressortirait-presque-mollassonne\">Marine Le Pen would almost seem weak by comparison.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>She, who had specifically made the \u00abde-demonization\u00bb of her party a priority, is suddenly no longer the farthest-right candidate in this election. Although she can claim to have long defended\u2014as did the National Front before her\u2014most of Zemmour\u2019s proposals on immigration, and although her figures on the subject are well-researched, she does not adopt her rival\u2019s combative rhetoric on Islam, as is typical. For her, the focus is less on civilization and more on purchasing power; but perhaps also more on the French people than on France itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"pour-la-candidate-les-republicains-valerie-pecresse-la-maitrise-des-flux-migratoire-est-un-defi-de-societe-majeur\">For Les R\u00e9publicains candidate Val\u00e9rie P\u00e9cresse, \u00abmanaging migration flows is a major societal challenge.\u00bb<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Her political vision on the issue ends there. However, she proposes a set of very concrete measures, some of which are included in a \u00abConstitutional Bill to End Uncontrolled Immigration\u00bb that has already been drafted. Rejecting the idea of \u00abzero immigration,\u00bb P\u00e9cresse supports a policy of annual quotas and wants to renegotiate agreements with foreign countries that refuse to take back their nationals deported from France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"macron-lui-devrait-rester-sur-sa-ligne-centriste-dont-la-boussole-est-le-pragmatisme\">Macron, for his part, is expected to stick to his centrist course, guided by pragmatism.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>His platform, however, has not yet been made public. During his previous campaign, the current president expressed a desire to better \u00abdefine the needs for economic immigration.\u00bb This is and remains the primary lens through which he approaches the issue. But Macron undoubtedly has an equally sincere commitment to combating communitarianism; his speeches and decisions bear witness to this. The decisive factor will be his proposals at the end of a rather mixed term in office, particularly on the subject of immigration\u2014at least from the French people\u2019s perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"du-cote-de-la-socialiste-anne-hidalgo-aucune-proposition-concrete-pour-le-moment\">As for Socialist Anne Hidalgo, there are no concrete proposals at this time.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>She says she supports European management of immigration in the name of \u00abdemocratic principles\u00bb and \u00abFrance\u2019s tradition of welcoming immigrants.\u00bb She limits herself to clich\u00e9s: \u00abYou can love France and be proud of your heritage,\u00bb \u00abWithout these men and women of immigrant background, France would not be what it is,\u00bb etc. While she does not comment on the number of immigrants, she asserts that they must be better welcomed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"chez-les-verts-yannick-jadot-est-favorable-a-une-large-politique-d-accueil-des-refugies-qui-releve-comme-le-regroupement-familial-du-devoir-humanitaire-de-la-france\">Within the Green Party, Yannick Jadot supports a broad policy of welcoming refugees, which, like family reunification, falls under France\u2019s \u00abhumanitarian duty.\u00bb.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>He advocates for a \u00abEuropean migration policy\u00bb and says he sees \u00abno problem with immigration in France today.\u00bb He had expressed outrage over Poland\u2019s decision not to take in the refugees gathered at the border with Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"enfin-selon-jean-luc-melenchon-de-la-france-insoumise-l-immigration-n-est-pas-un-probleme-en-soi\">Finally, according to Jean-Luc M\u00e9lenchon of La France Insoumise, \u00abimmigration is not a problem in and of itself.\u00bb<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>For him, the issue is primarily a social one; the problem with immigration is France\u2019s inability to offer immigrants a life of dignity.
