Sensations and appeal. The story of a thunderbolt at the museum.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>La premi\u00e8re fois que je suis entr\u00e9 dans le nouveau Mus\u00e9e des Beaux-Arts de Lausanne et que j\u2019ai arpent\u00e9 ses salles presque vides, en solitaire, c\u2019est ce tableau qui a arr\u00eat\u00e9 mes pas et d\u00e9fi\u00e9 mon regard. Il m\u2019est apparu presque en me toisant, nonchalant et \u00e9crasant l\u2019instant. Me laissant l\u00e0, troubl\u00e9 par son apparition, surpris par l\u2019\u00e9vidence de son irruption. D\u00e8s que je l\u2019ai aper\u00e7u, au loin, dans la diagonale des cimaises, j\u2019ai compris qu\u2019il se jouait l\u00e0, dans le silence des parquets, un bal \u00e0 la mystique d\u00e9sarmante. Un bal qui ne me laissait d\u2019autre choix que d\u2019\u00eatre l\u2019un de ses cavaliers.<br><br>Les expositions se sont depuis succ\u00e9d\u00e9, j\u2019ai franchi des dizaines de fois les portes du mus\u00e9e et je suis pass\u00e9 et repass\u00e9 sans compter devant cette toile, sans que son magn\u00e9tisme sur moi s\u2019estompe. Sappho exerce d\u00e8s ce jour une fascination troublante sur moi. Sans que je sache trop pourquoi, sans que j\u2019arrive \u00e0 en esquisser les contours.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u00abSa peau est br\u00fblante de lumi\u00e8re. Nue, sur le point de se coucher, elle remplit une lampe \u00e0 huile. Le creux de ses reins est au centre de la toile, leur chute nous fait glisser jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ses fesses. Charnues, elles aimantent le regard, leur rondeur rebondie, leur teinte ros\u00e9e, le d\u00e9licat d\u00e9hanch\u00e9, l\u2019ombre arqu\u00e9e du pli fessier, qui m\u00e8ne en douceur jusqu\u2019aux cuisses.<br>Difficile de ne pas \u00eatre \u00e9blouie et hypnotis\u00e9e par leur \u00e9clat.\u00bb<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Un r\u00e9cit artistique qui twerke<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans ce court r\u00e9cit d\u2019une soixantaine de pages, l\u2019historienne de l\u2019art St\u00e9phanie Lugon d\u00e9crypte ce m\u00eame ensorcellement qu\u2019elle a connu face \u00e0 cette peinture. Structur\u00e9 en trois grandes parties, le livre s\u2019ouvre sur des consid\u00e9rations d\u2019ordre esth\u00e9tique et anatomique concernant la mod\u00e8le (faussement pr\u00e9nomm\u00e9e Sappho), continue sur des pr\u00e9cisions historiques et le contexte de production de l\u2019\u00e9poque, pour finalement se clore sur un questionnement plus soci\u00e9tal quant au regard que l\u2019on pose sur les corps repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce texte n\u2019est nullement un essai th\u00e9orique d\u2019histoire de l\u2019art, mais une d\u00e9ambulation libre, enjou\u00e9e, p\u00e9tillante et souvent dr\u00f4le, parmi les r\u00e9flexions de l\u2019auteure. St\u00e9phanie Lugon part de son \u00e9tonnement initial (\u00abil y a quelque chose qui cloche\u00bb) pour cheminer dans ses interrogations et conclure en se servant de l\u2019\u0153uvre de Charles Gleyre comme d\u2019un miroir pour y scruter, de biais, ses propres travers. Et les n\u00f4tres.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u00abLa jeune Pomp\u00e9ienne est compl\u00e8tement de dos et n\u2019a pas conscience du spectacle qu\u2019elle offre. Ainsi, pour moi qui regarde, l\u2019effet est tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rent. Dans le cas de la V\u00e9nus grecque, je vois grosso modo Beyonc\u00e9 qui checke ses fesses dans le miroir de son penthouse au milieu d\u2019un clip. Dans le cas de l\u2019\u0153uvre de Gleyre, je suis introduite dans l\u2019intimit\u00e9 d\u2019une anonyme sans qu\u2019elle en ait conscience. J\u2019assiste \u00e0 une sc\u00e8ne que je ne suis pas cens\u00e9e voir. L\u2019artiste me place dans une position voyeuriste. Il y a une jeune fille nue et du non-consentement dans l\u2019air. Est-ce que ce ne serait pas cela qui me d\u00e9range, plus que ses proportions?\u00bb<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>De l\u2019intimisme au f\u00e9minisme<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce miroir tendu donne \u00e9galement \u00e0 St\u00e9phane Lugon l\u2019occasion d\u2019embrasser un angle plus intimiste, en se prenant elle-m\u00eame comme objet d\u2019analyse.
