Quitte \u00e0 ce que les \u00e9clairs de g\u00e9nie s\u2019av\u00e8rent des \u00e9clats de verre.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Un an apr\u00e8s la sortie de son pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent opus, Quentin Mouron revient titiller les librairies romandes. Dans son septi\u00e8me roman, il s\u2019int\u00e9resse aux relations amoureuses, en faisant se r\u00e9pondre deux histoires inverses. Et puis une troisi\u00e8me s\u2019y glisse, dans l\u2019embrasure d\u2019une nostalgie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disons-le d\u2019embl\u00e9e: ce qu\u2019il y a de plus laid dans ce dernier roman de Quentin Mouron, c\u2019est la couverture fa\u00e7on Diddl d\u2019un tableau pixelis\u00e9 de Mucha qui l\u2019orne. Entre l\u2019amour, la fatigue et la lucidit\u00e9, un homme et les autres traversent le d\u00e9sert d\u2019une \u00e9poque sans promesse, traquant non pas le bonheur, mais une raison d\u2019y croire encore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-on-ne-revient-jamais-impunement-sur-les-lieux-d-un-amour-assassine\">\u00abOn ne revient jamais impun\u00e9ment sur les lieux d\u2019un amour assassin\u00e9\u00bb<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans la lumi\u00e8re tapageuse de juillet, au milieu des rires d\u2019enfants et du roulis des vagues, Anastasie d\u00e9visse le bouchon d\u2019un jerricane, craque une allumette et sort de la chambre comme Antonin \u00e9tait sorti de leur relation cinq ans auparavant. Quelques instants plus tard, les flammes auront fini de totalement ravager l\u2019appartement de leurs derni\u00e8res vacances, ainsi que celui d\u2019au-dessus, o\u00f9 s\u00e9journent Gilles et Cl\u00e9mence, un couple enlis\u00e9 dans sa routine. Des protagonistes qui n\u2019avaient aucune raison de se croiser, mais qui comme au th\u00e9\u00e2tre voient leurs destins se pi\u00e9tiner, puis s\u2019accommoder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans un monde o\u00f9 les passions se consument plus vite qu\u2019elles ne s\u2019allument, <em>La fin de la tristesse<\/em> raconte la d\u00e9rive de quelques \u00e2mes modernes qui tentent, apr\u00e8s la calcination d\u2019un amour et la ruine des certitudes, de r\u00e9inventer une forme de douceur possible. On y lit la lassitude d\u2019aimer, la beaut\u00e9 qui s\u2019obstine, la tendresse qui se faufile entre les doutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-une-prose-tenue-des-defauts-tenus\">Une prose tenue, des d\u00e9fauts t\u00e9nus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Si les premi\u00e8res pages de <em>La fin de la tristesse<\/em> reprennent la m\u00e9canique d\u2019\u00e9criture de <em>La derni\u00e8re chambre du Grand H\u00f4tel Ab\u00eeme<\/em> (chapitres courts, longues phrases sans point, po\u00e8me narratif en guise de conclusion), on se rend tr\u00e8s vite compte qu\u2019on tient l\u00e0 quelque chose de ma\u00eetris\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quentin&nbsp;Mouron semble s\u2019\u00eatre appuy\u00e9 sur les ressources de son pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent roman, mais en gommant ses d\u00e9fauts et ses scories, ce c\u00f4t\u00e9 trop \u00e9bauche. Le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 a matur\u00e9 et d\u00e9sormais s\u2019\u00e9panouit la force des images et ruptures stylistiques. Le propos ne cavalcade plus, il gravite et la prose distendue de l\u2019auteur s\u2019entortille autour de sentences aff\u00fbt\u00e9es et de lyrisme bien appr\u00eat\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et si quelques longueurs et incompr\u00e9hensions narratives se font sentir (les longues sc\u00e8nes avec comme d\u00e9cor la crise sociale et les \u00e9meutes estivales de 2023), le romancier reprend habilement la main sur son \u0153uvre en s\u2019y invitant, d\u2019un coup de baguette magique autofictive. C\u2019est ind\u00e9niablement un livre qui suscite des d\u00e9bats int\u00e9rieurs et qui donne envie d\u2019interroger l\u2019auteur sur ses choix d\u2019\u00e9criture et ses partis pris esth\u00e9tiques. Chez Mouron, la tristesse ne meurt jamais tout \u00e0 fait; elle apprend simplement \u00e0 mieux parler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Quentin Perissinotto<\/strong>&nbsp;est critique litt\u00e9raire au&nbsp;<\/em>Regard Libre<em>.
