Le film s\u2019inscrit n\u00e9anmoins dans la veine de films qui traitent de la Seconde Guerre mondiale sans la romantiser.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Il&nbsp;y&nbsp;a des films qui vous agacent. Et que vous ne&nbsp;pouvez vous&nbsp;emp\u00eacher d\u2019appr\u00e9cier quand m\u00eame. Ils ont certains d\u00e9fauts qui seraient r\u00e9dhibitoires s\u2019ils n\u2019avaient d\u2019autres qualit\u00e9s r\u00e9demptrices. C\u2019est le cas de&nbsp;<em>Nuremberg<\/em>,&nbsp;sorti en salle au mois dernier, et qui&nbsp;diss\u00e8que la psych\u00e9 de Hermann Goering, plus haut dignitaire nazi jug\u00e9 lors des proc\u00e8s de Nuremberg, camp\u00e9 par Russell&nbsp;Crowe.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u2019abord, les choses qui&nbsp;agacent:&nbsp;le faux accent allemand de l\u2019acteur australien. Il y a tant de germanophones talentueux qui auraient pu incarner Goering dans la langue de Goethe. Christoph Waltz l\u2019aurait d\u2019ailleurs interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 merveille. En 1961,&nbsp;<em>Judgement&nbsp;at Nuremberg<\/em>&nbsp;(r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par Stanley Kramer) avait choisi des acteurs allemands, dont la flamboyante Marlene Dietrich en veuve d\u2019un g\u00e9n\u00e9ral ex\u00e9cut\u00e9 par les Alli\u00e9s. Au tribunal, la valse des interpr\u00e8tes, des juges et des accus\u00e9s \u00e9tait devenue un \u00e9l\u00e9ment de la trame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-lire-aussi-sur-le-meme-film-un-miroir-tendu-a-nos-consciences\">A lire aussi, sur le m\u00eame film | <a href=\"https:\/\/leregardlibre.com\/societe\/ralph-muller-nuremberge-nazisme\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"531851\">Un miroir tendu \u00e0 nos consciences<\/a><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Par ailleurs, on peine \u00e0 comprendre les libert\u00e9s prises avec le d\u00e9roulement du proc\u00e8s. L\u2019une des sc\u00e8nes phares est celle o\u00f9 le procureur anglais pi\u00e8ge Goering, apr\u00e8s que le procureur am\u00e9ricain s\u2019est emm\u00eal\u00e9 les pinceaux. Le Britannique arrive \u00e0 faire dire \u00e0 Goering, qui n\u2019a de cesse de clamer son ignorance concernant la solution finale, qu\u2019il aurait suivi Hitler malgr\u00e9 tout, en toute connaissance de cause.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or cette sc\u00e8ne n\u2019a pas eu lieu de mani\u00e8re aussi&nbsp;explicite:&nbsp;le procureur am\u00e9ricain a bien \u00e9t\u00e9 maladroit, et c\u2019est le procureur anglais qui a pouss\u00e9 Goering dans ses retranchements, mais de mani\u00e8re autrement plus subtile. M\u00eame avec l\u2019accent allemand ridicule qu\u2019il emprunte pour faire \u00ab\u2009authentique\u2009\u00bb, il parvient \u00e0 camper le personnage redoutable, charmant, sensuel et terrifiant qu\u2019\u00e9tait Goering. Les dialogues entre le Reichsmarschall d\u00e9chu et le psychiatre Douglas Kelley (Rami Malek), qui cherche \u00e0 comprendre les ressorts psychologiques du nazisme, font la part belle \u00e0 l\u2019ambigu\u00eft\u00e9 morale des tribunaux de&nbsp;Nuremberg:&nbsp;les vainqueurs jugeant les vaincus, dans un cadre juridique cr\u00e9\u00e9 pour l\u2019occasion, et que dire des bombardements en tapis des villes&nbsp;allemandes?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-parler-de-l-holocauste-sans-avoir-a-le-montrer-nbsp\"><strong>Parler de l\u2019Holocauste sans avoir \u00e0 le montrer<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 ses exc\u00e8s dramaturgiques, le film a au moins le m\u00e9rite, comme son illustre pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseur&nbsp;<em>Judgement&nbsp;at Nuremberg<\/em>, d\u2019\u00e9voquer l\u2019horreur sans la montrer, m\u00eame s\u2019il le fait avec moins de brio que le film de 1961, fresque impressionnante de l\u2019\u00e9poque d\u2019apr\u00e8s-guerre en Allemagne.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kramer prend le risque de se d\u00e9partir compl\u00e8tement du&nbsp;sensationnel:&nbsp;il ne traite pas du proc\u00e8s des dirigeants nazis, mais celui des fonctionnaires du r\u00e9gime en l\u2019occurrence les juges qui ont appliqu\u00e9 les lois racistes et antis\u00e9mites. Le personnage principal est un juge am\u00e9ricain vieillissant, choisi par d\u00e9faut pour un tribunal dont tout le monde commence \u00e0 se d\u00e9sint\u00e9resser.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sa confrontation aux accus\u00e9s et aux civils allemands dans la Nuremberg d\u00e9truite par les bombes alli\u00e9es explore bien plus profond\u00e9ment la banalit\u00e9 du mal th\u00e9oris\u00e9e par Hannah Arendt, \u00e0 l\u2019instar de&nbsp;<em>Zone d\u2019Int\u00e9r\u00eat<\/em>&nbsp;(Jonathan Glaser, 2023), qui \u00e9voque la Shoah sans jamais la montrer, si ce n\u2019est de loin, depuis la tranquillit\u00e9 apparente du jardin des bourreaux, ou du g\u00e9nialissime Jean Renoir dans&nbsp;<em>La Grande Illusion<\/em>, analyse des rapports de classe et du nationalisme d\u00e9brid\u00e9 dans un camp de prisonniers de la Premi\u00e8re Guerre mondiale.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces films nous transmettent l\u2019horreur et les complexit\u00e9s morales infinies de ces \u00e9v\u00e9nements historiques sans avoir \u00e0 bombarder nos sens d\u2019effets visuels ou sonores \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re d\u2019un Steven&nbsp;Spielberg.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Tous les mois, notre critique cin\u00e9ma <strong>Jocelyn&nbsp;Daloz<\/strong> explore le septi\u00e8me&nbsp;art dans son contexte socio-historique.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-vous-venez-de-lire-une-chronique-en-libre-acces-tire-de-notre-edition-papier-le-regard-libre-n-124-debats-analyses-actualites-culturelles-nbsp-abonnez-vous-nbsp-a-notre-media-de-reflexion-pour-nous-soutenir-et-avoir-acces-a-tous-nos-contenus\">Vous venez de lire une chronique en libre acc\u00e8s, tir\u00e9 de notre \u00e9dition papier (<a href=\"https:\/\/leregardlibre.com\/cpt-editions\/le-regard-libre-124-peuple\/\"><em>Le Regard Libre<\/em> N\u00b0124<\/a>).
