A dire vrai, les trois s\u0153urs qui restent le sont.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais il y a une chose qu\u2019elles\u00a0ignorent:\u00a0tant qu\u2019on est vivant, il n\u2019est jamais trop tard pour \u00eatre retrouv\u00e9.\u00bb<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Le prologue du nouveau roman de Coco Mellors se cl\u00f4t sur cette phrase \u00e0 l\u2019allure de proph\u00e9tie de fin de soir\u00e9e alcoolis\u00e9e, qui contient tout ce qui peut faire vaciller les\u00a0\u00eatres:\u00a0une acuit\u00e9 matin\u00e9e d\u2019espoirs assassins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quatre ans apr\u00e8s une entr\u00e9e lumineuse en litt\u00e9rature, la romanci\u00e8re britannique fait son grand retour avec\u00a0<em>Les S\u0153urs Blue<\/em>\u00a0et continue sa mise \u00e0 nue des relations sociales. On retrouve l\u2019\u00e9criture ac\u00e9r\u00e9e de\u00a0<em>Cl\u00e9op\u00e2tre et Frankenstein<\/em>, la m\u00eame vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9, mais un ton plus introspectif et sinueux. Un air \u00e0 la Sally Rooney, dans la pr\u00e9cision affective et la d\u00e9sinvolture des relations, les platitudes en moins. Le tout dans un style plus dramatique, moins analytique. Coco Mellors met du c\u0153ur l\u00e0 o\u00f9 Sally Rooney met des corps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Que reste-t-il d\u2019une famille quand ce qui la tenait ensemble\u00a0dispara\u00eet?\u00a0Peut-on vraiment \u00e9chapper \u00e0 son\u00a0milieu?\u00a0Taire les blessures permet-il de les\u00a0r\u00e9sorber?\u00a0Est-ce possible de trouver chez les autres de quoi r\u00e9parer ce qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 bris\u00e9 chez\u00a0soi?\u00a0Sur plus de 400 pages, Coco Mellors d\u00e9ploie une polyphonie d\u2019interrogations qui entra\u00eene le lecteur dans le questionnement existentiel de toute une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais qu\u2019on ne s\u2019y d\u00e9trompe pas,\u00a0<em>Les S\u0153urs Blue<\/em>\u00a0n\u2019est pas un roman qui nous place sur un divan\u00a0rouge;\u00a0les doutes et les angoisses des personnages ne sont pas des sujets de psychanalyse, mais l\u2019\u00e9cho d\u2019une d\u00e9route mill\u00e9niale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-eviter-le-pathos-facile-du-deuil\"><strong>Eviter le pathos facile du deuil<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 un sujet tr\u00e8s funeste, le propos n\u2019est jamais afflig\u00e9. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une mani\u00e8re parfois crue de dire les \u00e9motions, Coco Mellors tient \u00e0 distance toute tentation de dramatisation excessive. De telle sorte que le deuil, loin d\u2019\u00eatre th\u00e9\u00e2tralis\u00e9, se diffracte en gestes ordinaires, en silences, en substitutions. Le drame se situe dans les renoncements routiniers, non dans les effusions. D\u2019une plume fine mais s\u00e9millante, l\u2019auteure proc\u00e8de par\u00a0effleurements:\u00a0elle capte moins les \u00e9v\u00e9nements que leurs r\u00e9percussions intimes, leurs ondes de choc diff\u00e9r\u00e9es dans la conscience des personnages. La romanci\u00e8re cueille les affects comme un enfant cherche \u00e0 attraper les papillons avec son filet. Et elle r\u00e9ussit l\u00e0 une \u0153uvre d\u2019une \u00e9clatante modernit\u00e9, qui capte le mal-\u00eatre d\u2019une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9perdue et fait r\u00e9sonner ces failles psychiques comme autant d\u2019intimit\u00e9s jumelles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ce-qui-cede-ceux-qui-restent\"><strong>Ce qui c\u00e8de, ceux qui restent<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce qui affleure peu \u00e0 peu, sous la surface lisse du r\u00e9cit, c\u2019est un v\u00e9ritable th\u00e9\u00e2tre des d\u00e9sordres n\u00e9vrotiques. Depuis son premier roman, Coco Mellors d\u00e9veloppe une fascination pour les relations dysfonctionnelles. Tous ses personnages portent un d\u00e9s\u00e9quilibre int\u00e9rieur et les s\u0153urs Blue n\u2019y \u00e9chappent\u00a0pas:\u00a0elles avancent ainsi dans le monde \u00e0 bas bruit, prises dans des tensions psychologiques diffuses, comme emp\u00each\u00e9es d\u2019habiter pleinement leur propre existence. Elles sont des sir\u00e8nes qui d\u00e9rivent par leurs propres chants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il y a dans\u00a0<em>Les S\u0153urs Blue<\/em>\u00a0quelque chose d\u2019\u00e0 la fois tr\u00e8s contemporain et profond\u00e9ment\u00a0d\u00e9sarmant:\u00a0une mani\u00e8re de caresser la fragilit\u00e9 sans jamais la dramatiser. Un m\u00e9lange de m\u00e9lancolie lucide et d\u2019intimit\u00e9 \u00e0 vif. La tristesse s\u2019installe au creux de ces pages en nappes diffuses, quasi mutiques, et laisse derri\u00e8re elle un sentiment de vide, une absence qui ne se comble pas mais avec laquelle il faut composer. C\u2019est une nostalgie sans id\u00e9al, un rivage infini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lire Coco Mellors, c\u2019est regarder les peurs \u00e0 hauteur d\u2019homme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Chaque mois, <strong>Quentin Perissinotto<\/strong> s\u2019attache \u00e0 passer une \u0153uvre litt\u00e9raire au kal\u00e9idoscope, afin de r\u00e9colter les images qu\u2019elle projette et de restituer leurs diffractions. Quitte \u00e0 ce que les \u00e9clairs de g\u00e9nie s\u2019av\u00e8rent des \u00e9clats de verre.
