Media coverage involves disseminating individual or collective interpretations of reality. Having become an agent of mediation, it shapes the narratives through which we make sense of the world. But what are we truly confronted with when we seek information?

We evolve and define ourselves within an overflowing media landscape, where every everyday gesture or phenomenon, every fleeting outcry, and every niche event seems destined for potentially unlimited visibility. This profusion of signals does not unfold in a vacuum, but within a veritable symbolic topography, with its peaks, valleys, and shadowed areas. Just as the natural landscape once shaped the horizon of meaning for rural societies, this media landscape shapes our representations of the world: what we collectively consider important, urgent, or trivial.
