From ancient tragedy to the alexandrine declamation characteristic of classical theater, via 19th-century text-based theater to the advent of contemporary staging and performance, the dramatic genre has undergone many (counter-)revolutions and evolutions. Each episode of «Les aventures de la scène» focuses on a particular company or artist, whether playwright, scriptwriter, director, dancer or other, or on theorists of the performing arts who have all, in one way or another, contributed to shaping theater as we understand it today, as a specific way for people to tell stories.
