L'Apaisée, a pearl of hops at the end of Lake Geneva
Microbrewery Fridays - Max Moeschler
Today, our pilgrimage into the teeming world of craft breweries takes us to the heart of the city of Calvin. We present a unique, original and uncompromising brewery: Brasserie l'Apaisée in Geneva.
It was in 2014, after returning from a trip to Quebec, that Xavier Righetti decided to start brewing his own beer, first in his kitchen. Fascinated by the very rich craft beers The name of the brewery was inspired by the rejuvenation that its creator finds in brewing beer: «Making beer is also a way of returning to a more manual and less stressful activity, away from computer screens», he explains. The name of the brewery is inspired by the resourcefulness of its creator: "making beer is also a way of returning to a more manual and less stressful activity, away from computer screens", he explains.
Brasserie l'Apaisée offers a dozen original beers, most of them organically grown. Indian Pale Ale« beers, the creator's favorite, are featured in several of his creations. In addition to the traditional IPA, the White IPA is particularly fine and refreshing. Double IPA and Black IPA, on the other hand, offer more intense sensations, with a more pronounced hop character. A number of other creations, including a fruit beer and several stouts, complete the range.
But the brewery also stands out for its unique interactive experience: an evening-long introduction to brewing. Here, the public can discover the various stages in the creation of a beer, from grain crushing to fermentation. The brewing evening takes place in a warm, relaxed atmosphere, and is rounded off by an apéritif dînatoire to accompany with brio the inevitable and long-awaited tasting. Total immersion during the five-hour initiation is an unforgettable experience for all enthusiasts in search of brewing knowledge and, of course, quality beer.
