In March, Payot owner Pascal Vandenberghe published a book in which he looks back on his singular career, followed by an essay in which he develops his passionate vision of the profession. An opportunity to exchange views with him on the role of literature in a civilized society.

Editions de L'Aire present Le Funambule du livre, a wide-ranging interview by Christophe Gallaz with the CEO of the largest bookshop network in French-speaking Switzerland, followed by an essay by the latter entitled La librairie est un sport de combat. The former reveals the career path of «Monsieur Payot», who has worn many hats: fitter-mechanic, bookseller at Fnac, publisher and, since 2004, CEO of Payot SA. In 2014, Pascal Vandenberghe bought the company from the Lagardère Services group. He then became CEO of the company, which includes Payot bookstores and the Nature & Découverte chain.
