«Hostile», or when cinema dares to cross genre boundaries

It was a daring move. To combine horror fantasy and romantic drama in one film. Such was the challenge facing Mathieu Turi with his first feature film. This young French filmmaker is embarking on a promising career: the film he presented last night at the NIFFF (Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival) follows a remarkable cinematic experience. With two memorable short films to his credit, Mathieu Turi has worked as an assistant director with such giants as Clint Eastwood, Quentin Tarantino and Woody Allen.

Hostile is the story of a woman, battered by life's trials and tribulations, who finds herself trapped in her car following an accident. A catastrophic situation, all the more so as humanity is in a post-apocalyptic stage of reconstruction, and disturbing creatures prowl the night to tear the world apart.
