Founder of the cultural magazine Espaces (1975-2000), writer André Durussel looks back on the thirty-year existence of the Alliance culturelle romande. The story illustrates that «cultural magazines, like civilizations, are mortal».

In its Thursday October 15, 1992 edition, the daily 24 heures, under the headline «La clé sous le paillasson», announced the death of the Alliance culturelle romande (ACR) - an article by Jean-Louis Kuffer. Similarly, in the Journal de Genève of Friday October 16, Silvia Ricci Lempen reported «The end of an era» for this cultural association founded in 1962 by Myrian Weber-Perret, who died in 1985. The liquidation of ACR was decided at the general meeting held on October 17, 1992 at the Foyer de la Maison Pulliérane in Pully.
