Slash Média joins Le Regard Libre
Editorial for immediate release - Jonas Follonier
On July 24, Malick Touré-Reinhard, editor-in-chief of Slash Media, has informed the press that its webzine will cease operations as of January 1.er September 2019. The reason? A lack of recruits and revenue. A sad stage for this quality medium dedicated to culture and social issues and founded on the web in 2016 by a personality who couldn't be more deserving.
By a coincidence of calendars, I contacted my colleague at the same time to propose a rapprochement with Le Regard Libre. For several months, we'd been wanting to increase the range of our print magazine. What's more, I thought that as young media outlets in French-speaking Switzerland with a shared vision of journalism, we'd benefit from working together rather than each on our own. So I opened discussions with lemultimedia.info, a webzine that appeared in 2014 and offers rich sports and cultural pages, and Slash Média. In light of the latter's shutdown, we thought the time had come to join forces.
Slash Média and Le Regard Libre share a certain way of doing things. While our respective staffs are all volunteers, marked by youth and a thirst for learning, the same commitment to professionalism drives us on a daily basis. Unpaid does not mean unprofessional; volunteer does not mean amateur. Malick Touré-Reinhard shares my vision, and this is undoubtedly one of the reasons why this link-up seemed so obvious to him, all the more so in the circumstances surrounding his media.
Today, we can happily announce that Slash Média's breath will continue to nourish the media atmosphere in French-speaking Switzerland under our title. So, as of Monday, September 2, 2019, people involved in Slash Media have the opportunity, if they wish, to join the editorial staff of the magazine Le Regard Libre. You'll already find an article by Malick Touré-Reinhard, founder and editor-in-chief of the now-defunct Slash Média, in our music columns. It's the start, I hope, of a rich collaboration.

The online magazine lemultimedia.info, meanwhile, is starting a partnership with our magazine. Over the years, readers of the Regard Libre will find pages devoted to sport and all that surrounds it. This online magazine has become a benchmark for sports coverage in French-speaking Switzerland, and with good reason: the content is always original and in-depth.
In addition to these collaborations, our print magazine also features columns by celebrities, including former Swiss President Pascal Couchepin. Next month, he will inaugurate our new page 5 column with a reading note on his biography. Charles Maurras. Le Nationaliste intégral, released this year. A burning topical issue.
And so.., Le Regard Libre will experience an important moment in its history in September. May our content always make you smile and think, and may our adventure unfold thanks to you!
