Marx's concept of surplus value is as relevant as ever

Marx studied the capitalist economy like taking apart the mechanism of a watch. It is above all the notion of surplus value that enables him to lay bare the injustice inherent in the system. You have to go beyond Marxist rhetoric, which sees only class struggle and exploitation, to realize that his analysis highlights an as yet unsolved problem: that of the redistribution of corporate profits. While the proponents of a certain American-influenced liberalism are content with the fact that the economy works, Marx reminds us that the question of justice in society is fundamental.
