A cold morning last November, on the terrace of the Café de Grancy, in Lausanne. We wanted to ask Eugène, the author of Lettre à mon dictateur (Slatkine, 2022), why the place he had chosen for our meeting was «an important place in [his] family history», but we were caught by the waiter (who told us we had to order from the bar).
