«The Night of the Gütsch», unpublished novel (episode 10/10)

Here's the sequel to the new novel by Swiss writer André Durussel, published in Le Regard Libre throughout 2024.

At the beginning of August, a new face appeared at the Drei Könige. It was indeed Martha's sister. This new arrival - die Neue, as Jakob Lätsch used to say - was called Santa. She was officially introduced to the residents at the evening meal.

Santa - a very rare name in Austria - was currently studying art history at the University of Vienna and had just completed her second semester. The third semester would only start in October, leaving her two months for this internship in Central Switzerland. Younger than Martha by about ten years, quite tall and slender, with short, smiling hair, she was absolutely ravishing in her simplicity, even casualness.
