Contemporary theater is an eclectic art form, based on the marriage of music, dance, text, installation and other components to create a spectacle. The latter, sometimes magnificent, sometimes unsuccessful, differs from traditional drama in its multiplicity of styles and points of view. In contrast to the old theory of drama, the new theater is more concerned with provoking effect than with adhering to the letter of the text. But does it work?
