These words were not uttered by the leader of a right-wing sovereignist party, but by Keir Starmer when he sat in the British House of Commons as leader of the Labour opposition. This former Attorney General, who became Prime Minister in July of this year, was denouncing the errant immigration policies of Rishi Sunak's Conservative government. Indeed, since succeeding the very extreme Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader, Keir Starmer has focused on demonstrating his party's commitment to law and order and security issues, in order to win over the majority of the population.
